Disliked{quote} G Thanks for validating my points written above. All the requirements put together it makes trading a tough business to master and flourish and no doubt about that. However I am so fed up with corporate jobs and that combined with my passion for trading gives me the courage to overcome the toughest challenges. I don't mind building a large account if that is what it takes to make it in trading. I am not in trading just because of money but the freedom it offers to live my life. I would be willing to take those jobs once again if there is...Ignored
In fact I have recently graduated and just made the toughest decision of my life. I chose my heart over mind. I left the safety of the herd by choosing to NOT do what the other 99% graduates were going to do. Get a job. Frankly speaking I had no idea I was going to take up trading as my profession when I had got into uni but for some reason the idea of getting a job offer from even the most prestigious companies out there never thrilled me. My friends would day dream and night dream about it. In fact a friend's brother was employed in one these multinationals. His typical work times weren't actually restricted by the clock at all. We were at his place barbequing during a semester break when he drove his car in at 2 am - ahh yes, from work. He had to get back into office at 7 am again. My friends didn't care and were all lost in the hype of "WOW! Does he really work there?!?"
I love to read a lot on life, wisdom and success and to me life always meant more than the material needs that these glorified corporate slavery houses provide you with. Some people enjoy the corporate exposure and that's a total different story but I was of a different make altogether. I thought and thought if giving the most important 8-10 hours of my day to something that I would hate to do day in day out was worth even a bargain, forget about the price a.k.a compensation/salary.
I read up on global iconic figures for success and other more regional icons of success and noticed something strikingly similar in all. They literally just pursued what they were passionate about.
Wherever I go today, I get stares, wide eyes and shrugs and people are like "YOU DON'T WANT A JOB!?". I cannot care less. For what its worth my fb page every Sunday is littered by statuses of friends and other acquaintances cribbing about the start of week being so close. Does it still matter then how much they make or how well off they are using some mundane metrics for measurement?
For me the real difference is the happiness I get late on a Sunday when I know its going to be a fresh start to a new exciting week. Ironically this is about the time I know many will be slumping into their beds with dropped shoulders pondering over their sick, boring lives for the week ahead. I don't need to get up at 7:30 in the morning to dress up and line up for the early morning traffic jams to work. I infact wake up earlier then that (out of pure will) simply because I am excited and soo looking forward to the things planned for the day and No I don't only just sit in front of the computer with big specs and a big belly.
Life has to be fun and exactly they way you want it. The notion that you don't have a choice is a mere illusion. YOU ALWAYS HAVE A CHOICE. You can always change your life the moment you DECIDE. And I have done that. Loving every bit of the journey thus far. No its not smooth but that's part of the fun.
This is not to condemn those who do have a day job and love it. This is a shout out to those that are miserable because they have forced to accept a life, or mold their lives into a shape they hate and feel they can't do anything about.
The real message here is to simply just lunge for your passions and believe in yourself. Be happy. That is essentially all that matters in the end anyway. May that be trading full time, part time or not trading at all.
Just be yourself and let that attitude bring out the best in you. I see you're doing that P which made me really jump in here and back you up.
PS: Here's the statement I am looking at first thing I log on to my computer as its my background. I think its cool because it sums up the philosophy of life and what it really needs to be like.
