i have noticed alot of currencies are trading very tightly the last few days....might have to do with the uncertainity in washington and risk trends....the gbpjpy is stilll just a countertrend move until itbreaks above the 160 level

A break above 157.6 and 157.7 (as in break and close above) in the next few hours suggests that we're in the uptrend that takes us to 159/160 and probably the low/mid 160's. Meaning that the correction, rather than moving in distance, may have simply gone sideways in time.

It is worth noting, though, that UJ has not yet confirmed as a bullish triangle. It needs a break and close over 98.7/8 ish to do that.

This is only my opinion, for what it's worth.

Break of 157.6/7 goes to resistance at 158.2/3.

There were very clear sell signals. Divergence was extreme on most timeframes and GBPJPY was showing considerable weakness. Divergence showed on RSI and a number of oscillators and the price was going no-where, all the time losing momentum. Sell signals don't come much clearer, so it was obvious it was going down and we should just sell and forget. It was probably good for 200~300 pips at least to the downside, if not more

Most people were entering shorts because the indicators told them to. Only a very small number of people argued that it was going up (I was not one of them)

It was a year ago today and the price was 126.

A few days later, things were different.

Depends on what happens here at 158.2. If it does not retrace more than about 15/20 or so pips and then moves above its previous high at 158.3, then probably 160 is next up. (via possible pauses/retraces etc at 158.75 and 159.2)

Although it is just possible that it may come to a stop at 158.75/8 (76.4 retracement) and retrace down next week before moving up aggressively.

Why do I get the distinct feeling the Japanese government has waited long enough for the upward....in usd/yen.....tonite would be a good start for them, I wish the best with their Abe....enomics. Twill work, probably, I don't fully understand the plan....2% inflation target.....
