I agree. I did try that one too in NZ. You know what else is rare over here? Veal. I don't even bother looking for it anymore. I just go straight to one of my favourite Italian restaurants and have a good bit of Weiner Schnitzel. It's very strange as it is so common in NZ.

Now you must have missed my question from a few days ago. Have you run across train tracks because I'm starting to realise that this isn't as common a thing as I thought it was.

Are you being funny? It's just that Ja played this clip 10 dumb ways to die or something and one of the things was running across train tracks. I said to Ja "who hasn't run across train tracks". He said it must be a country thing. So when I was up the gym the other night and we were sitting around having a few beverages I asked a few of my English friends if they had run across train tracks. They all said no bar one. I used to go fishing as a little girl and one of the best fishing spots involved crossing train tracks to get to. You couldn't get to it any other way unless you went by boat. And I've run across train tracks as a shortcut to get somewhere etc.

I had to ask because it seemed like such a dumb question.....of course I have run across train tracks.....still do too. How else can I get to the other side??

A "train station platform" is a raised area for pedestrians, usually alongside the train tracks. Sometimes there are platforms on both sides of the tracks. So standing around on the edge of the platform is considered dangerous because it's next to moving trains. Going across the tracks between the platforms is dangerous (and usually illegal) because of the moving trains. Hope this helps . . .

I'm not quite sure what I'm meant to say to that Platform to platform or just plain train tracks. If someone hasn't run over just plain train tracks then they definitely haven't done platform to platform No big deal with the platforms. It's just like hoisting yourself out of a pool. Problem with a lot of the underground is that you can't do platform to platform. You'll just end up smacking into a brick wall on the other side.

Haha. I had to turn the volume down real quick for that one! You warned me, but it still caught me off guard.

Near where I grew up we had trestles going over creeks and small lakes. We used to listen carefully and if we couldn't hear a train coming we'd walk from one end of the trestle to the other as a shortcut. That's probably more dangerous than the train stuff mentioned in the video.
