It seems quite hard to open an account with Alpari UK. >.<I don't have any billing statement. ... my bank statement kinda sucks but It still positive.
I have completed the online registration Sunday.
I wanted to give passport + ID scanned, which was 11 MB and the sever didn't gave a response, and probably need a checking if is over 10 MB give a warning message.
I have scanned and gave smaller file, which successfully uploaded: ID card with photo.
From online banking I gave the last month account statement. Not need to be the main, just any account statement which has your address. You can have many bank accounts.
In AM hours I was called form Alpari UK by phone. I think it is only for phone number checking and be somebody, not robot at the other end of the phone.
At early PM the account was opened. Wasn't hard, by far not as how it is at Dukascopy.
Around 2 weeks I will play with they demo. I have friends, who were happy with this broker with a few thousands usd account.
I am not expecting virtual price spikes or paper mails to my address, if I will see any of they, I will close this account too

HI guys,
I was looking to open up an account to trade silver and gold only and was looking to invest apprx $30,000 - $40,000 in the account. It's going to be somewhat of a high risk account with hopefully high reward
My idea is to try and make money quick and pull out the profits right away.
So my question is this, which broker, Alpari UK or other, that you know of that will allow you to make big trades, and hopefully if you made a nice profit, they will allow you to pull out profits in excess of $50k and even $100k right away with no questions asked?
I would appreciate all the information I can get. I'm currently trading with a broker but never pulled out money (always lost it lol) but based on the reviews I'm reading online about this broker I'm nervous to make this kind of deposit with them only to hit big than can't pull out the money.

Hi Alex, I have a live MT5 ECN account and there is an issue with the spreads. I have attached 2 screenshots, basically the spread in the New Order window is 1 pip higher that what is shown on the chart by the bid-ask lines. It seems the BID price is lowered by 0.5 pips and the ASK price is raised by 0.5 pips in the New Order window, and it applies to all pairs all the time, so I end up paying 1 pip more for the spread. On pairs like USD/JPY or EUR/USD it actually doubles the spread as one pays 2 pips instead of about 1. I understand that Alpari...

Happy to help. Your profile states that you're based in the UK. However, on your account application did you specify that you were a resident elsewhere?
The minimum spread differs for residents of India, Mainland China and the Middle East region. This may explain why you're seeing a different spread.

Since our forex spreads are set by price competition from multiple liquidity providers, they can vary based on market volatility and liquidity. As that changes, so too can the spread.
It's no secret that the brokerage industry has been in the midst of a price war for the past couple of years. That combined with lower trading volumes last year have caused many brokers to struggle. There was even a UK broker that went bankrupt after trying to entice clients with 0 pip spreads. Last year also saw the failure of a US broker that had previously touted their razor thin spreads. If recent events have taught us anything, it's that safety of your funds can have far greater implications than we previously thought.
We are dedicated to the safety of our client's funds:

I’ve covered this earlier, however to recap if you are trading with the momentum of the market, and therefore by definition in the direction of least liquidity, then re-quotes are an inescapable fact of life that everyone has to deal with, from the busiest InterBank desks to the smallest retail trader. Having said that, re-quotes are dependent on your trading style. If you are buying in a rising market, that is buying when everyone else is trying to buy, or selling in a falling market, you will regrettably get more re-quotes.
Consequently, when attempting an instant execution order you may be re-quoted within a few seconds (and in the case of a pending order you may experience slippage). Orders are never guaranteed because if volatility is high, prices can be missed and we may not be able to obtain a quote for you at the price you requested. Orders are also sometimes filled away from the desired price due to gaps in the market. This occurs because currency prices can sometimes be very volatile or liquidity can be thin.
To put it quite simply, this is just the physical enactment of the Laws of Supply and Demand.
The only current alternatives are Direct Market Access Accounts (DMA). We at Alpari (UK) refer to this as a Pro account.
The basic difference here is that prices are not held static (for a few seconds) like non-DMA accounts, they constantly change. Orders are sent on a Fill or Kill basis where although you can avoid re-quotes, the risk is not getting a trade in (or out) at your preferred price at all. DMA accounts however do charge a commission (in lieu of spread) for each trade that you place.
To minimize re-quotes on non-DMA accounts:
1. "Enable the maximum deviation for quoted price" checkbox and set it above 10. This implies the max deviation is just 1 pip. To prevent re-quotes during volatile trading times, you may want to set the max deviation between 10 to 40 points (1 to 4 pips).
2. If you use an MT4 indicator to detect spread widening, please make sure that your indicator is configured for the 5 decimal pricing system that we use. Otherwise a 3 pip spread-widening will be shown as 30 pips by the indicator.
3. Another thing to consider is your internet connection to our servers. Test your latency by pinging the Alpari trading servers or just ping alpari.co.uk. If your latency is high (higher ms numbers), then this is one of the factor causing your orders to be re-quoted.
For example, let's say a client is complaining about re-quotes. He gives us an account number and we pull the logs. We find that we received his order at let's say, 9:01:11 and sent the execution back at 9:01:12, so less than a second. He claims it took two minutes and was requoted. Now, his logs showed that the order was placed by him (manually) at 8:59:50. So, yes, assuming all timestamps are correct, that looks like 2 minutes, but we can clearly see that from the time it was received on our end until the time of execution it was barely only a second, hardly a bad time.
Traders in UK and Europe enjoy significantly lower latencies (hence higher speed execution) and experience almost no re-quotes (when maximum deviation setting is correct) than other traders usually in Asia, Australia, Africa or in countries where the internet is routed via proxies such as Saudi Arabia.
Orders are never guaranteed because if volatility is high, prices can be missed and we may not be able to obtain a quote for you at the price you requested. Orders are also sometimes filled away from the desired price due to gaps in the market. This occurs because currency prices can sometimes be very volatile or liquidity can be thin.
To add some background, slippage is not an invention of the retail FX market. It exists in the Inter-Bank FX market and has done even as far back as when the principal method of trading was by shouting.
Part of the problem here lies around the execution conventions of certain order types. The convention around Stop Loss orders is that they are open-ended. There is a risk of slippage that is determined by the prices available in the market, but the understanding has always been that these are an "at best" order – because as painful as some slippage might be, it might be a lot more painful if the order just isn't filled at all.
With Stop orders you have to remember that, by definition, you will always be trading in the direction of least liquidity – and some slippage should be factored in. FX is remarkably uncomplicated in this regard. It always follows the path of least resistance. Occasionally this slippage might be modest, but the realistic fact is that when you trade at the point of greatest uncertainty there is no way to pre-define your risk.
The common complaint around slippage really boils down to individuals unhappy that no-one wanted to sell cheaply to them in a rising market or buy at a high price from them in a falling one.
This is not an uncommon criticism, but you need to consider the other side of the equation, which is quite simply -what's in it for them ?
By what right does any participant in the market feel he should be able to deny his counter-party the right to trade at a price that doesn't suit him ?

I added just one example, how you taking out traders on gold. At the beginning i was thinking that you will correct this spike, but no it is still there compare to others.
