Simply because there are no trustworthy reasons why I should think it is going the other way. Range template (that I trade most of the time) is in action at the moment. I also think that the up move that lasted from August the 6th till September the 18th is only a correction and the wave started from 2012 September the 14th (started making new LLs and LHs and then on 2013 April the 11th price dropped like a stone) will be continued.

Ok, when you open your eyes at 0.96 , remember this
Maybe there are reasons that you can not see so it doesn't make it a good reason .
Above 0.9380 this is a LONG ! Even if it is not, you need to see lower lows and lower highs to think about shorting.But we only see higher lows and higher highs since 27th of september.Even this reason is enough not to short it now if it is not enough to long it.

I have been struggling with this concept for over a year, but I think you are correct. I only know one successful trader and this is the way he approaches the market. 0.9600? Gee, I do not know. I have a small position, because I took half off at 2 to 1 r/r since I entered kind of late in the move. Hope we make new highs, but I have locked in a tiny profit, so I will at least make a few bucks.

The US government is expected to reach its debt ceiling on October 17th. Congress may wait until October 16th at midnight ET before coming to an agreement. Raising the debt ceiling usually leads to a higher price in gold.
