Hey guys. Hope you're doing well. AUD/USD on the list for this week again: a very nice reaction to the 0,9285 I mentioned. In case of a pullback south I would react with a buy in the area starting ~0,9309.

The US dollar is at a double bottom at 10490. Good chance it will go back up to 10653. This would be Bearish for Ozzie.

Hi Spartan,

Those are all very good and strong points for why the Aussie will be resilient, and I fully agree with you.
What I have a hard time with at this point is that from an EW perspective, price still has to head down to complete the larger wave 5 of the larger 5 wave move down from 1.0580 (as I have indicated many times previously with charts). As such, I strongly believe that after we complete the current correction upwards (to anywhere between 9500 and 9700) which would represent wave 4, the next move will be sub 8800, but probably no lower than 8400 before we see a major recovery.

What supports my view on this is the inevitable end (or tapering) of the US Fed QE3 program which I expect to be extremely USD bullish given how overly bearish it has made the USD since it began. This will push the Aussie south even without a further RBA rate cut, and I dare to say that it may still happen even if the RBA raises rates by a quarter point (which I certainly do not expect even in my wildest nightmares)

When investors get spooked and they need to liquidate their underwater equity positions, they also liquidate their gold profits to cover the losses.

This is a sign of investor (not trader) risk aversion. Money going back into cash. I mentioned this over the weekend but may have been in a different thread. Don't remember

AUD/JPY (might be interesting for guys trading it): down move is very likely. Next stop will probably be ~90,60.

I agree with all that (especially the EW count) except the fact that QE3 has been extremely USD BULLISH, not BEARISH. Just look at USDX starting in December 2012 (QE3 start date). But yes an end to QE (taper on), would be USD bullish if/when that ever happens.

Yes you're right that it has been comparatively bullish against the other majors, but in reality it has been "less" bearish than the majors.
Not sure if I'm explaining this properly, so to put it another way, let's just say that if it wasn't for QE3, the USD would have been far more bullish. Basically QE3 has severely restrained the USD.

Furthermore, if you look at cable and Euro, we're right back to higher levels vs USD than they were at the beginning of QE3, so in effect QE3 has in fact made the USD bearish
