I think the AU gap from 01.09. is still open. 2 week and did not close.

Yes, I noticed that it was a run away gap 1/9.

I can't find any news or something weird triggering this. May be it's just big money taking down stops and then continue to go down.

There was a stop hunt there, sitting duck stops above thursday's high taken out. Looks like it's heading back to try and fill.
Come on Guys, the Gap is a result of Summers withdrawing his name for the next FED chairman. Apparently he wanted greater/faster tapering (+dollar). His withdrawal is bearish for the dollar.

Remember Fundies drive technics.
GAP caused by Weekend low liquidity and NEWS came out saying Larry Summers (high probable candidate to take over the Fed Job after Ben Bernanke) has submitted his withdrawl from the Consideration of being the next Fed Chairman, Slight concern for the USD in the short term, as it causes uncertainty to the Greenback, but look to the long term and you shall see Tapering Happening... expect Gaps this week to be faded!

Still holding on AUDUSD Short. and EURAUD Long...
USDJPY Short taken profit fro a 7% gain.

I disagree. The real news was the US-Russia deal on Syria's chemical weapons, making US strikes on Syria very unlikely. Larry Summers was an unlikely candidate anyway, considering how his actions messed up the US economy in the past 10-15 years. Tapering is priced in also. Note that US data has been a bit weak lately. We might see a taper with an announcement claiming that they will look at jobs growth before they do more. But, as they say, buy the rumor, sell the fact. Long the dollar for the next couple of days and short it on Wednesday. As for me, I'm staying away from all of this, till after Wednesday's news.

well buddy, im a fundamental trader to start and for me to be profitable all this time i better know what caused gaps and im telling you its Larry Summer's Declaration just before market open... better not go against me on this.
just made a nice 7% gain on gap down on the USDJPY... taken profit and well waiting on the other trades...

i dont want to many enemies but... when you're talking about news... i probably know more...

as for somebody thinking its good to Long AUDUSD where it is....
as for me... i see a great opportunity to SHORT the AUDUSD and to close the gap.
