{quote} Hi MT, It's a poor trade in hindsight but to answer your question, I attach a chart. Tom highlighted in a tweet going short at the blue line or thereabouts.( I missed the seminar last night ) I am going to move my TP to the blue line but it looks like I'm going to get rogered well before then! For some reason the chart has come out blue? Anyway click on chart to see blue line! {image}

Hello 4FXsake,

Thanks for the quick reply, I understand what you mean. Moreover can I ask you if in Tom's strategy the principle of placing stop loss is just to put under the daily trigger candle, or do you use ATR to place stop loss also?

Hi, either really, whichever you find best.

Tom's target on H1 is the First Trouble Area, previous swings of S/R that could potentially reverse our trade.

Other reasons to get out would be an hourly close below/above our level, or maybe news, but that's discretionary.

Hi Quidsey, Thanks for your reply, so does it mean that only the level choosing has strict rules and choosing the stop loss and the target (or targets) are totally individual and can vary trader by trader?

Yes the entries have certain rules and the MM side of things has some options.

We try to keep this thread focused on the basics and on the DailyHourly TF so anyone new can pick it up without to much confusion.

It was after NFP.

Following Tom's tweets are really worthwhile, imho.

I start reading page 3 of this thread where the_wizard says "Course it works, what do you think I'm doing, posting here for the fun of it lol". I am wondering where can I find a link to the original webinar that he is referring to. Somebody please let me know.

Thanks

Hi

I've only just found this thread but it's very interesting. The closest thing to how I imagine professional traders trade.

Looking at the daily GBP/USD how would you treat a return to 1.54239?

A break below 1.5424 followed by a rounded retest would be a possible trade. Maybe move in to 1hr to get a better handle on it as it retests.

Just my 2ps worth.

Hi,
here is AUDUSD trade am in. I hope I understood well what Tom is teaching... gap play + sfp...
also if I had balls I could have made another entry at the swing top later into the day and now been smiling onto collected pips :-)

I cut that this morning at 0.9335 as it failed to collect sellers on the retracement of the overnight move.

You shouldn't be shorting into a "non taper".

You have to be aware of the news. This has been discussed in the thread before.
