Question is: even when we are on the right side of the track on this way down, do we really gain, or are all the gains at some point in time worthless?

Ask your broker for a potato account; all gains paid out as so. At least you won't go hungry & you will have something other than shiny metals or pieces of paper with writing on them to trade.

Friend of mine, also trader, put all his gains in agricultural business right now. He even bought a small farm in Bavaria, now mainly buying up forest

I've been trading 3 years - imagine: this is all i know... i'm yet to have my first solid meal!

besides only knowing QE markets, all i have to relate to new traders is: "August, 2011 - now that was volatility..."

maybe Im just biased, but I think its better to have a bearish orientation in a bullish market, than a bullish orientation in a bearish market...
