When i was back in this forum to i think 10/05/2013 when price first reached 157.7 none was expecting it to retrace , Geppy , KillerWhale , Scrat , All was waiting for 163 , so what stopped it at 157.7 and could this happen again here at any point ?

I reached my profit level today sevenfold today. I might take it easy the rest of the day. Hate to give any back. I will put a order in for high of day if it ever reaches it. but im done... gl all...

I closed the short opened at this high , But still deeply underwater

Is it losing momentum? certainly the technical indicators are starting to go the other way... at this point I would not open any positions, even for short scalping

Just because your indicators say "down" that may only be partially true. Today, I would not be overly surprised to see a move back to 157.4 ish but overall this thing will probably now head into the mid 159/low 160 area, before a possible pullback to maybe 156 or even the 155.5 area in a few days - before moving back up into the 160's.

Yes, there's divergence on lower timeframes but that does not prevent another move up - part of that divergence is solely due to the recent sideways movement.

personally, im still holding it and a big position...the pound is acting very strong on the UK recovery....the price action at this point indicates its going alot higher....

on a longer term basis its going alot higher than 160 my friend as long as the fundamentals support the technicals

Today (Thursday), it needs a clean close above 158.6 to continue north to 160ish (where I expect a stronger pullback to 156-156.4).

Saying that it needs to clear the 158.3-158.6 zone.

The blue zones on my chart are the hotspots to clear. If we clear 159 then it is more than likely we see 160. And then wait to see what happens there.

10am GMT may cause another glitch. Apart from that it is purely on the PA.

It broke out at 157.7 two days ago and the moves yesterday to 157.5 retested that daily resistance/now apparently turned support. Today that support sits around 157.3/4 and maybe as low as 156.9/157. Only a move now below about 156.5 probably negates the uptrend.

But it may not even go there and just run sideways for a while longer.

Since GBP/JPY broke its strong resistance at 156.75 a move towards the other strong resistance at 163.00 is now to be expected. The technical configuration remains positive as long as the support at 156.25 (10/09/2013 low) holds. Another supports stands at 155.50 (09/09/2013 high). Safe trading!

sorry about that my friend....i have a longer term target potentially btw 169 to 170 based on fib expansion...we will see if it gets there....however, i like to take one thing at a time....first like i said i would not be shocked if a pullback is in order first sign support will be the 156.70 to 156.50 area im thinking.....

I know what you mean 156.70 MA 100 in H1.it would be if any break at level 157.2 but I prefer to hold my short according to daily 156.3 (small MA).
