Expect continued volatility in the USD/JPY with a raft of Japanese data on the calendar and a likely stronger Nikkei following news Tokyo will host the 2020 Olympics, says ASB Head of FX Institutional Sales Tim Kelleher: "The yen-crosses have been particularly volatile over the last week so it's unlikely to change much." Among the Japan data due out is the Japan July Balance of Payments and 2Q second preliminary quarterly GDP estimates. The pair is at 99.69 vs. 99.13 late in New York. Kelleher puts support at 99.00 with resistance coming in at 100.00.
