well dude, i believe you have more than enough to get going, (between DDE/DLL/named pipes)... it all comes down to how much head banging you wanna do!
certainly explore the link that inifinitus sent you, it is a good place to get some ideas, and personally, if i could go back, i would have just bought that software rather than spending hours unnecessarily! (I think they have a fully functional demo you can try out for a few days)
ultimately, you are going to end up spending a lot more time writing/testing the logic for your system, so the sooner you get to it, the better you are (on a NPV basis!!)
the one thing i would say is this: you may (i did) spend a LOT of hours perfecting your back testing logic in excel... this is mission critical for any quant strategy as you know... again... the sooner you get to it, the sooner you start tossing ideas (that may be advertised as profitable) into the garbage bin, and start making real progress...
I am sure that getting under the hood presents its own sex appeal, but ultimately, it may not add any $$ to your trading account...

No worries. Never was "giving-up" part of my language and never will: no retreat no surrender. These words are not part of my vocabulary. Be sure of that.
I'm just analyzing the stuff in order to set-up easiest/quickest plan before starting the job. (1.arming weapons 2.lock target 3.fire)
So you mean there is a native mql function I can use to have MT4 reading a csv file? Good news. VERY good news.
If you have more to share don't hesitate. off course now my next question is about the syntax required in the csv for MT4 to read them correctly. Is it "variable = value" or directly the command line ?
If you have a sample I'll be glad to take a good care of it
Otherwise I'll do my search of course.
But as Raza said "Average life is 840 months" so...any factor able to speed-up the task is definitely more than warmly welcome.
Okay blind buying is good to speed up but I need to fully master the language otherwise I'm screwed. And won't be serious and credible to start coding any algo interfering with real money if no full master of the language.
