lol. Hmmmm, that's not what my mother said it was. I can tell you that it is not a common occurrence over here. I'm not even sure if I have seen it at all. As kids we used to play "Who can spot the most crosses on the side of the road" on long journeys. The modern version I played with my daughter is "Who can spot the most trainers on power lines".

It's mostly done by wannabe gangtas in lower socio-economic areas and isn't a common occurrence here either. You'd have to be a muppet to advertise like that that and you'd be in the slammer before very long in your short criminal career!!

I think you are so used to seeing them that you don't notice them anymore because we made a game out of it. Sometimes they seemed to be out in the middle of nowhere but I guess they were indicating to the driver to take the next turn or something.

Funny you should play Coolio when talking about wannabe gangsters. He was on Celebrity Big Brother over here a few years ago. What a dropkick. Then I saw him on a game show recently. From Gangsters Paradise to reality TV and game shows in the UK. So uncoolio. Can't listen to that song in the same light anymore.
