I would say 1000 pip drawdown is fucking worrying if you trade pairs like EURUSD.... and that shit gone against you 1000 pip...
but gold however... 1000 pip drawdown is meh.... not that big of deal.

fine... but if the guy is restricted to only trading at 0.01 lot then he has to win by pips... and 1000 pip is a lot to catchup if hes trading EURUSD or GBPUSD....

I mean yea hes probably not gona get a hit much on his million dollar account in terms of value but his account's Pip value might stay in negative territories as he gains on the account...
ive actually seen people's account who has negative pips but positive gains....
that's the use of lot size to counteract the lost pips...

not a very good strategy though....
positive pips and positive gains is the way to go.

you trade the weekly? boy you must be losing out on a lot of trade opportunity... and also it takes you about a month to realize your weekly strategy is wrong....
I surely cant wait that long.... H4 and Daily is good enough for me....
the Pips you make ill just compensate with my higher frequency of trading.

as for your pictures, I never asked you to stop.... I simply ask you to post them at the correct time... because you hurt a lot of new traders here who joined in shorting on Friday.... because you posted those images on Friday... and they blindly followed it....
so do the thread a favour... if you're gona post those images... time it better.... Time is a huge factor to forex trading....

Closed up my long from earlier, now looking for re-entry and target 920 after USD ISM is 51.xx in 10 hours

Current pending order long @ 90175, still holding short on EURAUD also

By law maximum leverage in US is 1:50. Only $5k equity..

It may, because dollar index is still on the upside. So this was just AUD individual bullish, when it turns bearish..

To me usd looks neutral now....
for either usd strength or weakness it comes down to this thursday us unemployed claims and friday's nfp

In 8 hours USD ISM comes out and we get our direction for the week...

fxtyrant, I'm just using your quote to get on this topic, not to dispute. Nor is it directed at you only.

I just took a shower and was thinking about this comment. So I figured I would talk about it cause I find it to be important. Time frame is certainly something that has to be considered when coming up with the strategy or approach you are going to take on a setup. I think the strategy should revolve around the time frame and not the other way around. In my first few years it was something I had to work on. The natural tendency is to want to take as many trades in a day, hour, 15 minutes as possible. The idea is to try and compound gains quicker. Sometimes that works better, but sometimes it doesn't. In the end, I find it is all the same. There is no wrong or right time frame to trade. Each trader is different. Different thresholds of patience, discipline, greed and fear. Different habits, different objectives, different life circumstances and even different schedules. Even if two 100% identical persons were put on different continents their approach might be different simply cause of different time zones.

With regards to different time frames I cannot criticize anyone else's choice. Again, they know what is more comfortable for them based on their own personality, schedule and circumstances than I could ever know. All I can say is that I normally tend to choose larger time frames. I just feel it suits me better overall.

well my higher trade frequency also takes fundamental into consideration and I have a lot of tech indicators as filters to avoid entering bad trades... and so far you can see my result.... I didn't like to trade the Daily or weekly charts because..
1. You lose trade opportunities... but you gain on trades making more pips that lower time frame trades...
2. because of the higher pip trades means theres higher pip drawdown hence you will probably lower your lot size... probably best if you cant handle the risk...
3. because of the higher pip range on higher time frame you can take higher amount of drawdown on lowered lot sizes as compared to lower time frames with higher lot sizes, but this could also mean higher time frame demands you to be less accurate with your entry and exit....
4. The reason why I hate anything higher than daily chart is because it takes FAR too long for the sentiment on say weekly or monthly chart to change and that means suffering a huge drawdown before you say enough is enough and that you are wrong with the trade....

that's how I see things... correct me if im wrong...

im trading H4 charts, with daily chart reference for trend.... I Counter Trend trade, and enter Divergence trade with high probability (meaning filters filter down low probability divergences) and I trade back to the moving averages as moving averages are often considered as the price equilibrium for different time frame.... obviously you have to optimize the moving average so that it works with different pairs...

but that's how I trade.... and so far its been working really well.... since we all know... a currency pair cant go down or up in a straight line... a correction or reversal often happens when the currency falls or rises....
theres always a reaction after an action... just like AUDUSD... the Action... Fall from 1.05 to 0.88, reaction... rise form 0.88 to possibly abck up to 0.95... then action again at 0.95 to fall from 0.95... who knows?? but this shows you currencies often move back to moving averages, and that's how I trade.... but my risk is to be able to determine which divergence trade I should take and which I shouldn't... hence the reason why ive been using ADX AND Williams%R as filters....

But then im not a risky trader compared to some people here who have say 10 pip SL and 50 pip TP... I mean great that's a great risk reward ratio... but very often you see traders like these hit their stop loss 10 times before winning that 1 time... hence their account gets fucked because they have such tight SL..... THOSE are the real intraday trader.....
H4 isn't really intraday... especially when I aim for 100 pip min.
