Month-end Dollar demand?

I am hearing that at the end of the month there is a dollar demand - What is the reasoning behind this?

I haven't read the financial news for about a week now, but I would guess it's related to tapering. Usually month-end, quarter-end and year-end flows are influenced mostly by portfolio readjustments. I've made a list of forexlive's Q&As, please have a look at the list of links I posted, there's definitely something there about fixes and month-end flows. I would expect to see more action next month as August is usually the vacation season when banks and funds leave the juniors to take care of business. Obviously the juniors have small trading limits. As soon as the professionals get back from vacation you will probably see a bigger reaction to Fed's taper talk.

Could be because of the military invasion the US forces establishing against Syria. And that can prompt concern that oil supplies from the Middle East might diminish for the next couple of months. The really strange thing was that the most of the big investors were heading all the week early days to the safe havens like the Frank mostly and some for the euro and the yen, too. putting this all together with the statement made by the bank of england governor Mark Carney said the central bank was prepared to step in with fresh monetary stimulus measures if needed. Making sense that there will be a demand at least for the vacation times.
