I think, we check for system money managment. 1 loss mean, a lot of tp with first and second entry. If someone write EA and add settings for lot size, pending orders, sl, tp, trailing stop etc.. we trying and optimize it very well.

Working on it...

You should have closed in profit after 3rd entry (1 bar after 3rd entry).

hi all,

the rule is: when the bar closes below the sma`s, enter on the open of the next candle.

in pipsclip example, a bar closed below the orange 300SMA only when it went on to pierce the 400sma.
so all 4 trades should have been stopped out for a loss?

Pipsclip - it's ok.
yonnie - the rule is close behind sma60, all other entries are on the sma's without waiting to close.

my example is from nacho example. It's mean "grab your profit".
yonnie, that's is 3 entry, not 4. the 3rd entry will cover the 1st & 2nd entry that already loss.

Hi pipsclip, I been going at the strategy for 3 days now and am up 9.12%, in my short stint, I only look for setups on the 1H, 4H and Daily TF. Anything below 1H is prone to getting you to a full S/L very quickly with high impact news. The Drawdown does get a little hairy especially on the higher T/F's.

My hope is that the gains will compensate the odd full s/l. I am enjoying the testing to be honest. look at my previous posts to see how I trade the system.

Here is a pic of the gains per pair so far using starting lots of 0.01.

so far Smilee seems to do better: 10% losses against your 25% (24 losses out of 94 trades).

early days yet, but something to keep your eye on podberry.

Hi yonnie, where do you see Smilee's 10% losses out of interest ? I saw losses at 26.77% of total trades as per the pic below or am I missing something ?

To add, as this is a semi - martingale strategy working on % losses is not an accurate measurement due to working with a grid.

Reason I say this is that if one gets to level 4 and it moves in your favour, one would have profited on 1 move and would have closed the other 3 at a loss, hence skewing the results - (overall being in profit).

Thanks, I leached a bit of your logic into my own method and although started off with a bad lose and had 2 outta the 4 trades I made hit SL EJ very quickly and UJ I shoulda closed for small profit had I of been watching, still slightly in profit.

If GU woulda filled the next order down huge profit, simple as that.

Would only expect 1 loser in 4 realistically US open kicked me ass though.

using M5 with 40ema, 200ema and 800ema
Nothing to it, but to do it!!! Stick to the plan FOOL!!!!

They all have there choppy useless weeks and there trend continuation weeks, likely tried this before with M1 going through all variations on the theme with M5 till something sticks, yes it's taking FOR EVER, accepting bigger SL's and trading with smaller lots might be the solution, more of a it's going up vaguely go long and if it dips a bit go long some more haven't really got a clue style

Anytime, keep it up!!

Thanks podberry for sharing.
I thinks you are right.. By using Small TF I feel like i'm scalping and i'm missing more on target.
Since i'm still working with some company, my time to monitor is limited.
First i'm testing with M5, the best with M5 is enter with early target and sometime make double profit with same gap (eg: price move twice at the same area up and down)
But, i have to monitor that movement, fear that it's hit the next SMA.. and i hate waiting. haha..

I'll try H1 and H4 soon..
TQ.

I don't what it's mean to my question.

In my opinion, TF for this system is " You just check what time frame fit the RULES of this system".
If H1 still didn't fit the rules to enter and you have to wait for that, then check others TF..?
do you think i'm right?

see my next example.
