Patience and belief in PASR and TAO pays off.

As Frank has been encouraging members with his results, I thought it is about time I did the same; and in the same spirit.

Sorry I do not have the software to report in such a neat format as John and Mike, but I think there is enough in my summary for you to get the drift.

Please note that:

i) at least 90% of my trades are pure Trend Following (TAO) trades,
ii) using an Initial Risk (-1R) calculated at ATR(25) x 2 giving an IR in the range of 150-400 pips, give or take.
iii) Each position is cut into 2 equal tranches.
iv) TP is always set at +1R for one tranche. The Risk:Reward ratio is therefore 1:1
v) The remaining tranche is allowed to run, until I conclude that the trend has reversed.

EOD, EOW 2 August:

Open profit exactly 9,600 pips.

38 open tranches

10 positions (each of 2 tranches) yet to reach TP.

28 of the open positions are the 2nd tranche allowed to run without a TP, after the 1st tranche reached TP at +1R.

Of the 10, 2 tranche open positions, 2 are in the red XAGUSD and USDJPY, totaling -518 pips. Silver looks safe as it is still trending my way.

USDJPY has lost its direction since I bought on a pullback on 4 July but the last week was Bullish on the Weekly (green candle off the bottom of the 2 week old WCC).

I am going to wait for the market to either give me my TP or stop me out for a small loss.

The other 28 open positions and tranches, have an open profit totaling 10,188 pips.

On the subject of patience, my oldest open trade was entered on 4 May on AUDCAD.

Here is my OANDA chart of my live trades for AUDCAD, 8 open positions but many chances were wasted where I could have Added On extra profitable positions:

I am using a trailing SL for all the 8 positions at 0.9573 which is the red line on the chart.

AUDCAD has been puling back for the last 2 days, and I'm hoping that it will pull back at least to the 9 SMA to give me a chance to add on another position in the Down trend.

The Net Asset Value (account balance +/- unrealized profits and losses) of my live OANDA account is up 21.7% for the week.

Account balance, which includes all actual realized profits and losses up 4.2% for the week.

Please be sure to note that I am reporting open profits which are the markets money which can be taken away, as quickly as it can be given.

Thanks for reminding them but it looks like it fell on deaf ears and blind eyes. It seems most on public forums these days are looking for a quick fix - either a free signal or the key to Pandora's box. Asking lurkers and thread hoppers to go BACK and READ and UNDERSTAND the thread is like asking hookers to stop selling their goods.

Maybe we should jazz the charts up with a few squiggly lines and flashy colours or maybe we should go back to setting traps or maybe we should just smile as we continue to take their money?
