Can anyone explains this crazy spike that happened at 12.30 pm GMT ? what is this ? there's a crazy bullish spike there in GPB/USD , why is that an why that causes crazy bearish spike here in GBP/JPY ?

can anyone explain to me what happened on the spike at 12.30 GMT? i know this http://www.fxstreet.com/news/forex-n...a-ecab3636d887 because of weak US Data . but why this was translated as bullish in GBP/USD but Bearish in GBP/JPY , EUR/JPY?

As is usually the case, GBP/JPY is caught in a tug-of-war between USD/JPY and GBP/USD as NFP data gets digested.

I'm done for the week, and I'm seeing better opportunities in USD based pairs so that's probably what I'll be focusing on next week.

Smart to be done for the week, this is a really tough spot to trade.

Actually, Geppy has been in a range since around 2013.05.24.

I'm not sure if it's really that complicated.

first short position is open now @151.30 and will add more short if it goes up nicely. and tartegts 140 to 138 and in a condition of breaking 147.00 level.

I've been preparing some thoughts and I think I'm going to share my system with everyone this weekend. I've got a lot of notes to write up, so it will take some time, but prepare to be amazed guys

I'm thinking I will start a new thread which sucks because I love you all (well, most of you) and I hope you guys will join me in my new journey (everyone except Chubbly will be welcome). I'll still check in here and be active, but this new thread will probably be my focus for a while. I've been going back and forth a lot as to whether or not this is a good idea, but I think I've made up my mind... so I'll have to accept the consequences that come with it, and hope it does more good than bad. i went short around 151.30...to me this looks like a good area to short and first target is 147 does this seem logical

For me GJ is too risky at the moment, I'll be trading UJ, EU and UCAD for the next week.
Oh and a favorite, EG, which is an easy opportunity to gain, just look at that 4 hr chart.

Hello

On the other hand im old member of this thread but not as a registered trader but i have finnaly decided to join this fantastic thread. Have learned a lot from you guys. Finnaly got a little bit of time to make my first post here and try to be the part of this great group of traders

Actually after the fall to 148,480 cca we had a signal for buy. After "the beast" clime to the 151,243 i will personally look for some solid place to enter the shorts. I would say this is the one place for it . But from the picture we can see that there is a still enough place to reach 61.8% of fibo retre that is 151,866. So there will be my second place to enter the shorts. What makes me decided to enter into shorts are :

  1. on 50% of fibo retre is the " behaviour of the price in the past " The blue circles show the places where the price rejected again downwards.
  2. the positions of moving averages MA 50 / MA 25 ( the candles have touched MA 50. But there is a question if it is enough)
  3. from the stochastic (50,20,20) the red line ( slower one ) have not still crossed number 2o from down to up so no signal for buy and even if we click on daily and weekly graph the sell signal is for me still valid

From the daily graph we can see how the trend have been broken down and from my point of view now we are testing it On the other hand i fully understand Geppy why he is in the range If you look on the graph you can see some "side movement of the price ". From the picture we can also see the valid signal for sell from the stochastic.

As i have noticed im still not as good as many of you from fundamental analysis but as i have made a research on monday calendar (see the picture) we have some news heading

5th-7th GBP Halifax HPI m/m previous 0,6% and forecast 0.3%
10:30 GBP Services PMI previous 56,9 % and forecast 57,4


As the USD is part of GBP/USD we will see how the USD ISM - Manufacturing PMI result will be. As the forecast is possitive we will see if the GBP /USD will go down if yes we can expect some movement down

If any comments or something i will be pleased to read it ( all this just my view on GBP/JPY )

great synopsis.....its still in the lower range and needs to get above 153.50 to definately get into the higher range....and the weekly trend line is broken and now is just testing that area...this week there is alot of news that will influence the pair....im already short... so we will see what happans....a bullish case can also be made as well

I do not agree with your view. For me GJ is much safer comparing to other yen pairs. We'll see the outcome this week.

Agree, the Daily has no direction to it ......

UJ, GU and GJ all want to go up............not good............

Should it fail to move higher on this move, it may well fall back to it's low before attempting the 61.8 or even the 76.4 level at around 152.6. It somewhat depends on where it opens in a few hours, because it appears to be having difficulty in continuing at this time. And if it opens where it sits now, it will be just on or slightly above the nominal "trendline".
