Also, I'm mad because I do this all the time. Taking profits too early even when I have great entries and then it ends up hurting me. And I was even writing a post here about how I wanted to hold on to that short as a swing trade!

But damn, I still can't help myself. I didn't know taking a profit could be so dang hard... But I'm also mad because I have a great system, but I just can't seem to follow the rules, even after all this time. It's very annoying. That's why we all need an algorithm these days LOL... Hit me up if you're an MQL programmer.

I'm not going to give away everything, but my system told me so. All of the things that I look for lined up and the price action was starting to deteriorate.

PA dominates everything.

I just didn't trade the move well.

PS: Now you tell us how you got 153.21...

I'd tell more about my system, except I am so desperate to make money... to be honest. Otherwise I'm not sure if I want to give away all the details on here.

Sad but true. But it is the greatest technical system that I know of... if only it could be automated

Also keep in mind nothing can replace patience, discipline, and conviction when it comes to trading. Probably not even an EA.

EDIT: I've been thinking about possibly selling the system (literally just so I can continue to keep trading as it is), but it's not fully automated yet so if I were to sell it, it'd be a manual system and I have nooooo clue how much I'd sell it for. I don't even know how much interest there is/would be in such a system so I'm trying to figure this stuff out, but I can assure you guys that my system works and any problems are usually a result of the trader himself, not the system.

HAHA awesome man!! I feel like you just gave me the golden key to unlock some dark, black magic trading voodoo or something... LOL

I am going to bookmark this concept and give it my own analysis. I sure am not going to dismiss it because I have definitely noticed some mysterious things going on that do resemble voodoo in a way...so if you or anyone can make some sense of that, all the better. You should post here more often cuz I bet we're all interested in hearing your thoughts. Why do I get the feeling that you are a hedge fund manager or some big shot like that? hehe

Cuz I don't know where else you can come up with an idea like that
... But hey, if you've got more PM me, I'm happy to take in all you've got.

two other things to mention.....the pa will go somewhere just under 39 pips all the time.....the limit of it's range for that swing....then on the bigger end of a daily range...215 pips always limits the G/J PA...or if it exceeds that number of pips...it's a trend...
...

and then that area of xxx.31 to 37......like we saw the 153.34 hold....like it's the "gummy area"...I swear....34 is the center of the "gummy" spot....two pips either way....

If it can break soon over what I think is multiple resistance (s) at about 153.4, it probably has clear air until the 155 area. (88% retracement) or even the top.

If it can not break up, the 61.8 retracement at about 150.5 also happens to be on the (nominal) rising TL that it bounced off at 148.8. (in about 4 days)

Hey all, I was stopped out of my initial short scalp but I had put on three more after it with scaled TPs (see chart). The first TP has been hit and waiting for the other two now. Ideally, we test and hold 152ish and then I can start buying again.

I was wondering how you were doing with that short. Good idea to load the boat around 153 and average in. Nice work, I think your plan is good. But I'm sure you knew that already.

I pretty much always scale into positions whether they are scalps or swing trades (which are more my style and the majority of trades I take).

I NEVER "load the boat" on a scalp

I save that for the swings

I think that if can get back above about 152.9 it has a reasonable chance of getting back to the top or way beyond. Below about 151.9 it becomes bearish

If you needed to know why that area was so important then study 4hr graph. 153.1 was the fib obviously. It comes out more accurate on a line graph if that helps

Indeed, you are absolutely correct. The top was exactly at the fib88 level which is where certain moves will complete. Now we'll wait to see whether it really was the top.

i didn't do anything outrageous I just sold the fibs, looking expensive though isn't it as this puppy doesn't seem to have any brakes. And I'm well underwater on the 152
