'Cuba later released a statement calling the equipment on the boat "obsolete defensive weapons" from the mid-20th century.'


'A statement from Cuba's Foreign Ministry acknowledged that the military equipment belonged to the Caribbean nation, but said it had been shipped out to be repaired and returned to the island.'


So the Cuban story is that it was merely sending antique weapons that it decided to hide under hundreds of tons of sugar 12,533km to North Korea to be repaired ...
now north korea is an expert in repairing obsolete defensive systems, and this poster is right about korea being very far for a mechanic shop........
