On U/J i saw a 11.1 pips trade ( minus spread, so approx 10 pips)

No problem! I have been fiddling a lot with colors, indi's, and zoom level, and decided to stop fighting it and have two charts, one zoomed in and one at the zoom level I just posted at. I got the color idea from an old picture of James' charts. Anyway, here's my template:

I'm also working on a new indicator to give us a heads up display - let me know if anyone is interested in something like this, and what they think is or is not useful in being included. When all the conditions are met, the indicator will print a big giant arrow in the trade direction, and then each person will use their trigger method to go in - whether it be the 123 reversal pattern like me and I think DNA, or the Aims box (fractal sr) like Gil, or Babon slope for the original method traders.

(Speaking of 123, look at that beautiful 123 entry on that pullback - I was driving when that happened but that is what I consider as one of the best setups)

Right now I have the
-M5 Slope
-The direction the M1 slope is going
-Above/below the Ichi cloud
-Distance away from TMA M5 band

Yes - or even for just a single pair, it could be sort of a visual "checklist" of what you would normally mentally go through before stepping into a trade.

If anybody has an ideas of what they think would be helpful to display I would like to hear them and possibly include them. For example, as Gil and I were discussing earlier, I like best when the TMA M1 slope average is going down as well as the TMA m1 is close to 0.

hi jmflukeiii,

thanks for the template. I was thinking to code similar indi then yours, then we can see everything within a sec.
we can put the m15 tma slope and kijun slope(up or down), but just suggestions.
could you please post your indicators for the template if you have time.

Sounds very good jm!

Suggestions:
(a) - include the user selected option of (1) simple arrow showing if distance to LBand is X pips or more OR (2) giving actual distance to LBand as you've shown here
(b) - being able to set a minimum value for up arrow (long trades) for M5 and M1 Slope Avg, otherwise a neutral non-arrow shows if slopes are between -X and +X (maybe you have this incorporated already)
(c) - having a comprehensive up/down arrow that will show historically when all conditions were true, so that we can look back for signals generated in the past backtest style (possible if option (1) in (a) above is used)

Thanks for the suggestions!

(a) good idea - right now I have it set to change color if the distance is a user selected distance away, and it judges the TMA band that is the trade size of the ichi. For example, if we are above the cloud, then it will measure the distance to the upper band. If that distance is more than X pips away, it is the color green. If we are below the ichi, it will measure distance to the lower band, and if that distance is more than x pips away it is the color red. If, in either case, the distance is less than X pips, it is the color yellow. I can easily change that to make a symbol, or just make it user defined as to what it prints (distance text or symbol).
(b) excellent idea - that was going to be my next step. The first step was just getting it working right. The problem, as Gil and I discussed earlier, is what angle do we want to see? What is the important value? Second thing to remember, so far I have coded the average of the slope, and then made that arrow point in the direction the slope is heading. So the M1 slope may actually be down, but it is decreasing by less and less, thus the arrow will be pointing up (show that it is turning). This is similar to to the line Gil and I have running through the TMA Slope indicator - (look at my chart above).
(c) this will be a little more intensive (meaning I'm not sure I Know how to do it), but maybe could figure that out. I am using the True TMA for all calculations so it would already be reflected accurately in the past.

I'll add m15 direction, but probably won't make it part of hte trade criteria. It would be nice to just be able to see though.

The problem with Kijun is programming whether it is rising or falling, because at times it goes flat. Suggestions on logic to overcome that would be much appreciated!

I would suggest a minimal up or down move extern variable.

I suggest that last (or immediately previous) trend remains intact if Kijun goes flat, ie Flat = Last Status prior to flat remain in force.
This is of course only a suggestion if you absolutely have to have a Kijun trend.
Programming wise it means that Kijun trend status is remembered and only updated if not flat.

But sometimes it is flat for only 1 or 2 candles and that should not be considered as flat.
