just trading what i see on daily chart. have no time to analyze fundies and have no wish to do that. i am not an economist or investor. trend is down, so shorting on bounce. short at .9165, stop loss set. if lose 10-20 pips, no big deal.

That is supposed to be open positions, according to Oanda. It's supposed to be very recent, but it's not up to the second. I believe it's updated every 15 minutes. Honestly, I don't know how accurate it is. As far as I know, there is no way to know what the average price is either. That information is not released. For that reason the figure can be misleading in that it doesn't tell what the total position sizes are for both long and short. With that said, I do believe the numbers are lopsided in all aspects. There is no way of knowing how long the open positions ratio will remain similarly lopsided, but you can count on most retailers keeping their drowning longs open longer than short retailers keep theirs open (on average). It's just in their nature given you have interest being an incentive or deterrent, depending on which side you're on.
