What service do you guys use for wireless broadband internet access? I live just north of metro ny and was considering Verizon's National Broadband access until I read this on that page....

Unlimited NationalAccess/BroadbandAccess:
NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess data sessions may be used with wireless devices for the following purposes: (i) Internet browsing; (ii) email; and (iii) intranet access (including access to corporate intranets, email and individual productivity applications like customer relationship management, sales force and field service automation).Unlimited NationalAccess/BroadbandAccess services cannot be used (1) for uploading, downloading or streaming of movies, music or games, (2) with server devices or with host computer applications, including, but not limited to, Web camera posts or broadcasts, automatic data feeds....(blah blah blah)

Should I be concerned that they don't "allow" automatic data feeds? I called and asked them and the Verizon guy pretty much said "I don't know"....does anyone else use them for wireless trading?

I have used verizon broadband for my laptop during the last 9 months almost every day and have not had any problems. When I have WiFi access I use that first and verizon when I don't.

I'm using Verizon Wireless to make this post right now on my laptop.
I'm in NYC at the moment and in the city it's fantastic. I've had the service for almost 2 years now, just about since they rolled it out.

It all depends on where you live and where you will be using it. When I'm really mobile, and let's say on Long Island, it's decidely more spotty, but I'm still able to connect and run my charting package and brokerage software in 95% of spaces. But not as great a connection in most places as I get in NYC, where it's always full broadband and 100% stregnth. You will need to try it out and see how Verizon's coverage is where you will be using it. It is a nationwide service. I've used it in Miami, Atlantic City, various other cities, and I even was in a hotel room in some bum-heck suburb in North Carolina, in a hotel room, and I logged on to check some stuff and I had a full broadband connection. That was a shocker.

I think it's a great service because it works where I am when I get mobile and want to check the market or even make an adjustment to a position. But it's for that purpose only. I wouldn't rely it for anything more than that, although I guess you could.

If you use broadband at home your not going to enjoy the speeds especially while your in suburbia, so I wouldn't want to sit down and do some major market analysis using it, but it serves it's purpose well if you want to change your locale temporarily while monitoring this 24 hour market.

Ignored
Note that it mentions Server & Host Devices.

You want to receive a feed as a client, not a server/host.

It's just to stop someone hogging bandwidth and serving large numbers of clients and robbing bandwidth. (e.g. Pirate server). Since most ISPs tend to charge only on incoming (to client) bandwidth use.

It's a common clause. I used to help with sys-admin at an ISP and I think even on dial-up plans we had that clause at one point.

You have nothing to worry about.

I run MT4 mobile on my Sprint PocketPC. Not exactly the same service as what you are asking about... but it does work very well, especially when I'm in the city (Charlotte, NC).
