event driven scenarios. Overnight news out of Cairo. Tanks in the streets there will make traders nervous. Heavy US jobs data, ADP and unemployment claims, comes in just before the open. Good news on US employment? Will that bring the fear of QE pullback? I started leaning short when I heard more & more about Egypt, bought the SDS calls today when I saw the stock indices slipping. So I see a down day in the making, but hell anything can happen....

Well, red flags in Europe and Asia with good reports in USA.
I still had open vertical spread in RUT and wants to close early today.
Only wait for lower open today.

Egypt doesn't produce much oil, but controls the Suez canal, where much of Europe's oil supply travels every day. Watching events in Egypt and oil, will try to catch USO short on a pullback if/when things appear to cool down.

I close my short with +1.1 , I keep my Long looking for good report Friday or expire without value.

upgrade: call RUT 1000 - duplicate value, but I stay outside home and canīt close.
I need big move friday because big theta.-

didn't get filled, will look for further UNG weakness to complete the spread.

10yr yield up on good US econ news, a good NFP will keep that ball rolling. I am not in TLT or TBT though. There's still time to play those for the Fall...

weeklies out of the question now, never saw anything I liked. I'm on the other side of your miner puts, w/ Jul 20 NUGT $6 calls - should have sold them yesterday when NUGT hit $6.43, maybe I'll still get out with something. After all the end-of-quarter repositioning in gold/miner etf's I'm waiting to get a clue re: gold.

with the holiday and NFP out a hour before reopening of markets on friday it looks ideal to catch people unaware, hence why i stayed in GDX and added

That's a 12-1300 pip drop, tall order for a little over 2 months. FXE is going down though. If I had to guess I'd say somebody sold those on the bottom leg of a bear spread, but I don't see any other volume like that above it in near months.

Well, that is a bear spread worth looking at, though. E/U is gonna lose the battle at 1.30, really seems to me...

they may never hold to expiration and simply close once a closer target is hit

yep, could be, lots of possibilities. just was scratching around on FXE bear spreads, could sell the Aug 123 puts for $0.28 and buy Sep 121 for $0.38 for a $0.10 net debit. My accounts are too small though, so I'm very margin limited re: selling puts, not worth looking at when its a high priced item.

More news of sovereign debt trouble out of the EU may hasten E/U drop but I had thought there might be a Jackson Hole effect, too, so would maybe look at Dec '13 puts. (odd jump there Sep to Dec no Oct, Nov expiries - wtf?)

they should be on your preferred brokers platform, yahoo is just a free sevice and reference point
