If you don't believe that moving average systems work, I suggest you read the new book, "Following The Trend" by Andreas F. Clenow. To have success with the methodology, you need to trade from a much longer term perspective than most traders have in this forum, and a much more diverse portfolio. Otherwise, as a strategy for intraday trading on a few currencies, you probably won't be very successful.

No method or system should be TOTALLY reliant
on moving averages.
They (ma's) can be very helpful but are ONLY a
part of the entirety.

It's that simple (IMHO)

sometimes they mean something
sometimes they don't

you might notice tho
the "x" on 1H (50-34)
where is aussie now...idk

often they do ?? MA's and/or pivots

hi slim

i pretty much agree with your points regarding moving averages and pivots.i use my own calculated levels for both averaged price levels and extended levels calculated from the average similar to standard pivots although i have more faith in mine as i know what i actually want to calculate and why.

the only thing i have a different view point on is were you say somtimes they dont work,that confuses me.what do you mean by dont work.
mine always work when price reaches the extended level a cycle completion has occurred,they are merely levels were one would expect reaction ,orders generally will be at those levels.

Hi guys, well I had a good start, the cross I spoke about yesterday was triggered not long ago then my charting software crashed lol, so I was blind, I got 10 pips then compounded another 10 pips at 50% extra and as I was blind I got out, once my charts come back I,ll stick one in here

I just got my charts back and look at e/j BEAUTIFUL, I am not trading it as I said before I lost my charts but I did my normal 30 pips compounding plus this trial MA method

On chart,,, A = the trade which my method should of used but I was not available to place trade, I still would of made the 30 pips and this trade would pf been better for my mind knowing it was good.
B = the trade I did do, I entered at 13048 at £1 per pip made 10 pips then compounded it at 50% higher so £1.50 per pip AND I was going for another 10 pips but actually got 20ish pips lol. Like I say it was the A cross which should of been the main trade, be good

Woke up to late and missed some cracking setups, nearly shorted ej the newbies where buying the 1.30000 support and got crushed as expected.

Gu just swapped to long side on my ma, retested it then shot up.

Ma's don't work lol its just rarely easy how ever you choose to view the market.

i was lurking in the forum and I thought you took the trade after the MA cross of there is 'rainbow'.
Are you saying that you take the trade upon Price crossing below the mid MA? and not the MA cross?
And your entry at B, you took it before the candle closed?

No lie, its taken me years, where did i say I've cracked it ? I didnt so no lie.

Got a new method I'm using at the moment and profitable so far, but only a week of live useage, I'm itching to slap in more cash and start gunning it though.

I dont trade with meta trader so unless it connects to FXCM these days ? I can't sorry.

I post my of my trades live in my journal, but if i put a batch of orders in i dont post all the limits take to long, as i will put themon6 pairs.

YES, I keep saying crossover and then I will say (my crossover) Without causing any arguments regarding MA trading normally a candle will have to close first I believe.But I have a 9/18/30 ema and watch it on the hour chart and you need the 3 emas spread (which I have shown) and when it starts dropping or rising I then watch the 10 minute chart for all 3 MAs to be broken then I enter, this way you can get in early.
I can put yesterdays chart in and show you

This helped as well for my entry, an inside bar which is good for the price action people
