I agree, central bank can only watch and squirm and exert limited influence.

AUD showed signs of stabilizing in June before FED comments drove it rapidly lower. However fed comments contained no substance or strategy outline, so the most recent sell off seems to be based more on fear/thin air than tangible fact.

To me the chart is shouting retrace to 0.9600/0.9700 area after such a sharp sell off.

I am interested now to see how the pair reacts to the next piece of good news/data. Looking at tomorrows releases for clues.

nicely said. they try to do the same in Israel (central bank trying to get a stronger dollar) but the market keeps shitting them and the ILS gets stronger and stronger every day.
