{quote} That kind of defeats the purpose of having the time delay then, better to make the setting trade once per DAY or something. Maybe have experiment with make the setting 24 hours, Khalid, any suggestion? Look at the chart, last trade was on the 3 of June, now we are 5 of June, so does that carry over for 2 days? Broker (chart) time is 05:52, last trade was 14:33 as shown, so it will not trade until 20:33 - another almost 15 hours? Needs more programming if the case, but might explain why there are so many FAQ about why it is not trading !...

Well the way I understood what he said was that it wouldn't take a trade from 14:33 - 20:33 whether that happened the same day or tomorrow, etc. So it still should take a trade now, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. He did mention he wasn't going to worry about updating the EA as it was just meant to test the strategy, not trade it going forward...pity.

Well, it's definitely a flaw in the code. However, several of us have programmed our own EAs, which do not have this problem. I shared my trade delay code with TallCoolOne, and he included it in his EA, which he has made available for the asking (see a few pages back). He and I are planning some other additions to the EA as well. Feel free to PM TCO your email address for a copy.

Folks:
Sorry for the mistake. I had originally placed a solution to some items I had noticed on an EA from this thread. I was under the impression that this was from Khaled's EA, it was not. I have removed the info of this post.

So in that case if you guys need coding help I will be more than happy to assist.

So carry on and have fun.

If there is no option in the EA or Indicator (not sure which you are referring to BTW)

Go to MT4 : Tools : Options : Events :

Double click individually to activate or ENABLE to turn all off

Any doubters or non-believers left?

23,000+ Pips and up about 32% since inception. This was less than 6 weeks...

I was about to write 100Pips, that this system is full of surprises but once again and very promising, provided we know how to handle it, which is case with markets in general.

I am going to follow the demo bit more before going live, though the rate at which it is progressing, I must say I am tempted

Yes 100pips, I´m up (live) more than 10.000 pips (6.300 closed and 4.000 floating ATM) in less than 2 weeks. Thank you.

The exit part still worries me a bit.......:nerd:

Cheers

Hi all,

Regarding Margin Calculator

I would like to thank all the Principals, you maudur, and for that matter all others who have contributed to this thread.

I shut down trades I had running last week at FXCM with +2800 pips. I ran only 4 trades for the first 2 days and then added 12 more. All settings with regard to TP/SL where as recommended in post 204. I also limited each pair to 8 trades Max and 6 Hr intervals. I had some issues with no TP or SL placed by the EA and I thought that it would be better to start fresh. My buddy has been running the EA on 21 pairs with ATC for about 2 weeks had 9700+ pips. Needles to say, like all of you, we had some wild swings.

So, at the open of the market on Sunday with FXCM, I had 20 pairs ready to rack them up. .

So far at about Noon, Monday, Pacific Time, the EA has taken 32 trades and is about 2200 pips negative. I believe that that is the nature of the beast, and I am not concerned.

I do wonder however how to translate that behavior to a small live account. For that reason I was delighted to find the Margin Calculator. Because the Draw downs are so large, I think it is critical that the calculator functions correctly under all circumstances. Maudur you say the in the US we are 1:100 but I believe we are 1:50. Which doubles the account size required. In addition, different brokers may have different requirements (not sure) which will greatly affect the general outcome. I have not been able to see the formula's you use on the spreadsheet as I believe you have locked the Excel sheet. Here is a link to the FXCM Margin Requirements. Maybe you can check this out and keep us out of trouble. Thank you very much in advance. As of Midnight, London Open Wednesday, I show about 50 trades for +4600 pips and 8 trades for -160 pips with a number of the having no TP/SL. So, I think that besides some tweaks and debugging the challenge is to manage the large Draw Downs and Profit taking. So again, thank you all very much. I look forward to your comments.

You can change SL and TP parameters to your own comfort level. Just remember the concept, we are swing trading from the Daily chart so stops need to be wide enough so that we don't get knocked out of trades due to "news" driven spikes but we also want TP targets to be large enough so that we can capture as many pips as possible as trend moves in our favor.

I'm currently testing a hard 160 SL and a 320 TP for all pairs using my other swing strategy. You may want to make adjustments to fit your own comfort level.

Another thing to consider is maybe after you reach TP target for all 8 positions for a particular pair, disable the EA until you are confident in either a resumption in current trend or wait for price to move above/below both EMAs and start a new trend in the opposite direction. 320 pips x 8 positions is over 2,500 pips. Even if you caught two "waves" per pair per year that is over 5,000 pips per pair per year!

You're welcome Claudia! It's always nice to know that people appreciate others' time and effort. I'm glad that most here are experiencing positive results with this new strategy even if it is only demo testing,

For those trading live I wish you the best. I am still going to give it another couple of months of forward testing, but if things keep going the way they are now I may put in $50k to trade this strategy on 10 pairs using current settings.

Have fun with Cable!

Target hit on cable very quick with help of positive UK data. So back to the EA.

50k is around the figure I had in mind, but why 10 pairs - I running 23 at the moment on a live account but obviously not funded to that level whilst I learn the EA. My view is the more pairs the better as you are hedging to some extent and also can run smaller lots reducing risk. On the downside if you manually intervene which I undoubtedly will and do, managing 23 x 8 trades (at worst scenario) could be amusing. Would certainly take a while to close them all. Thinking aloud here I guess!

Would be interested to know which 10 you choose (I suspect you may already have posted this ). Guess it's down to correlation or even inverse correlation and which ones trend best. Hmm.

Hi 100PipsADay, I see on the open trades of the explorer you got nzdjpy sell opened on 3th june, 'though weekly up trendline was broken before
don't think it was a little risk the sell trades just at support level of 79.5 ?
I got ea disabled on nzdjpy and waiting for 79.5 support level to be broken....
I want to just understand better your rules so I'm asking you.

{quote} I think Khaled mentioned earlier that the EA delay does not distinguish one day from another. In other words if a trade is opened on Tuesday at 5:00 then it won't open another until after 11:00 (if on 6) even if the first time it meets the rest of the criteria is 10:00 on Wednesday. At least I think that's what he meant.
Ignored

That's what's happening.
It looks only at the time of the last order and ignores the dates.
It wouldn't open an order on EUR/NZD this morning until 6:19 (my chart time) because the last order had been the previous day at 00:19.
Correcting this will make a significant difference in results- maybe for the good or maybe for the bad.

I am having 3 open EU positions using the EA. I just noticed that 2 of them are having the SL and the TP left unset. Is that normal? Any bug?
