Okay all.

Yesterday I was whining about the treatment the market was giving us. So I thought why shouldn't I express my joy today (I'm a sentimental guy). Today the market is a party, I love this system, it defended us yesterday, and and kicked the market's @$$ today... ..

Btw, how are you doing Tok? Hope you left your trades open...

@Scott - I hear what you say but I don't think leverage is too much of an issue with this. Simple reason if you trading 20+ pairs in essence your hedging waiting for a break. I gone live at 500:1 and why not. For sure I wouldn't do that on my day trading account but don't see a problem with swing trading. Time may prove wrong good luck all.

I'm overjoyed.

left all positions open. They all recovered and went deep into positive, almost hitting TP. I was so excited, that I closed most of the trades the second London closed today.

i still have a few open, waiting to gain a bigger profit.

I'm so glad I listened to you and 100pips, and stuck to the trading plan. Emotions are what cause us to FAIL!!!

Claudia, I have no idea what settings you personally are using, but I have seen some of the trade explorers people are posting, and many are using lot sizes that are way too large. Anytime you have swings of 25-50% in your account in one day, you are playing with fire, and your account will blow up eventually. Even if your broker offers you a very high margin level, it is wise not to trade it to the max. Your broker may allow you to open the trades, but he will also allow you to take your account to ZERO. I'm just trying to be a help here to some of the newbies who are only seeing GREEN with this system. Trying to save them a little inevitable heartache, that's all.

What you say is of course right. I been trading for a living for years and saw this as a bit of fun but now I'm taking it seriously and am very impressed. The losses will come and newbies will panic as I think happened yesterday lol but that's part of the game as you obviously know. Good trading.

But what would have happened with your trades if you had let them run even further (after London close)? It's a demo, what do you care. You should want the market push your demo to the edge, to know what a method is worth.

This was live.

i have already tested the strategy on demo and trust it. Yesterday was just an anomaly I had not experienced, and I am now thankful that I did. It taught me a lot.


and keep in mind I am not using the EMA strategy. I am using the third screen strat by Dr. Alexander, on 100pips' other thread.

I think there may be a bit of confusion for some on the difference between leverage and lot size. The leverage will determine how much of a total investment that you as the trader have to put up. If you have 100:1 leverage and wish to open 1 standard lot ($100,000) you will have to have $1,000 in your account. If you have 500:1 leverage you only would need $200.

The fire that perhaps some are playing with isn't so much the leverage they're using, its the amount of their account they are risking per position (lot sizes). You can take that $1,000 and open up 1.0 standard lot or 100 .01 lots.

Obviously if you go for the 1.0 standard lot model, and your position moves in your favor, you will see a big increase in your account size (as some have been seeing). Of course if price moves against you, the opposite will happen (as some have also experienced).

So if you go for the gold and want to double your account...be prepared to lose the whole thing as Henry pointed out. But that will be the case whether you have 50:1 or 500:1

This is the greatest system that I ever met in forexfactory, thumbs up for 100pips in the effort!

Just a small question, is 0.01 lot can be used for this EA? Bcz when i key in 0.01 lot in the settings, there is no any position to be open, while 0.1 lot does open many positions.

First of all, thanks to 100Pips, khaled_ctg and also some other contributors.
Normally i'm not writing that much. Maybe because my English is not the best. But I was following the thread since its beginning. Testing the EA for a while now, also writing my own EA atm. Its a pretty solid strategy and i'm looking forward to its results in the future Opened a demo account some days ago. Kinda tempted to open a small micro account, but i will wait a bit.

Depends on your broker and account. Some don't have .01 lot sizing
Am currently reading the thread for the second time but unless I missed it (good possibility as I'm pretty old AND tired) I'm trying to ascertain the importance and correct settings for the "Delay Hours". In the EA it's set for 2 hours, but then the last recommendation I could find was to have it set at 6 hrs. Is this broker dependent or perhaps location dependent?

Love this thread and can't thank 100pips and others enough. First EA (AND system) I've seen in a long time that has me excited and feeling positive again.

I don't think there ever will be a "correct" settings for this setting. It is there IMHO only for the fact that you do not want the EA to open all 6 or 8 trades within an hour of each other as most accounts will not handle to drawdown.

As you know, market price moves in waves, this would be due to the 24 hour world we live in - Asia bids a pair up, along comes Europe to sell off, USA does whatever, the cycle repeats but hopefully the main trend continues with higher highs / lower lows - you know the drill.

By taking trades 6 or 12 hours apart, you may capture a much better price than the previous entry - review the price action of this week and the ensuing posts made here if you're not sure what I'm talking about.

Even if a forward "test" of every hour setting from 1 to 24 for the next 2 years shows 6 or 12 to be the "better" setting, there will be no guarantee that will repeat for the next 2 years.

Depending on your trade tolerance and account size, go with what you feel is "correct" for YOU.

The beauty of DEMO account, run one with 6 hours, another with 12 hours, compare the two results!

I noticed the EA isn't opening up some trades it should be opening.
The EUR/NZD has been flashing two green arrows for the last 30 minutes- everything is in accordance with a long position.
The EA hasn't opened it.
There are only 3 EUR/NZDs opened at this time. The last one was yesterday about this time.

Yes, that is what I am showing too, notice that yesterdays' trade where the W%R - seems to be very low down, whereas sometimes it takes trades as soon as the -20 or -80 line is touched?

Just wait & see I guess...

I think Khaled mentioned earlier that the EA delay does not distinguish one day from another. In other words if a trade is opened on Tuesday at 5:00 then it won't open another until after 11:00 (if on 6) even if the first time it meets the rest of the criteria is 10:00 on Wednesday.

At least I think that's what he meant.

That kind of defeats the purpose of having the time delay then, better to make the setting trade once per DAY or something.

Maybe have experiment with make the setting 24 hours, Khalid, any suggestion?

Look at the chart, last trade was on the 3 of June, now we are 5 of June, so does that carry over for 2 days?

Broker (chart) time is 05:52, last trade was 14:33 as shown, so it will not trade until 20:33 - another almost 15 hours?

Needs more programming if the case, but might explain why there are so many FAQ about why it is not trading !

Check existing trades and the times !
