going home, and thinking that 9700 maybe too ambicious, and may loose the ride...maybe 9730 should fit better the mini retrace we are ready to see..have to think better, but this asia session is going to be exciting!!!! thatīs for sure!

Since it's already so stretched outside the normal range, does that increase or decrease the likelihood of further movement on the RBA decision. If it's positive for aussie (no rate cut) will we zoom ahead another 50-100 pips? Or will we see profit taking or a full retrace? I'm liking the volatility, but with it comes much needed risk management.
I think based on the move that we just changed the trend, any downward movement can be taken as a buying opportunity. Even new lows would be welcomed!

I would agree. The price actions for the past few days have dictated a bottom for the pair. Mostly due to dollar weakness and not exactly total strength in the Aussie.

Bearish: AUD/USD has been bearish since the 1.0581 high on the year. It has come down and broken the 2012-low of0.9580 before finding a bit of support at 0.9527. Still the market has lower lows and lower highs, so the bearish trend is intact. But we are seeing an extended bullish divergence with the RSI suggesting some consolidation ahead. There is also a new bullish divergence in the daily chart, adding to the case for a consolidation soon.
Pivots: If the market can push above the 0.9710 pivot, it would reflect a bit of consolidation taking place, but first only opening up to 0.9840. It’s too early to call it a bottom so expect rallies to be faded, but if the bearish attacks do not push to new lows, then we could be establishing a bottom. Otherwise, if the market holds below 0.97, we still have downside risk to 0.9386before hitting the 2011 low, which is the low point of about 2 1/2 years of sideways action.

I think the market has become a little excited on weaker US data and has rallied on US weakness overnight. Around 20% probability of a rate cut today, but market got it wrong last time. I am looking at OCR today and looking to confirm highs and lows in the current range before deciding if are seeing support or retest to new lows later today.

Fell short of my .98 upside. It just never has any ummmph when it needs it. Damn near 200 pips squeeze and now recedes 50. If closes above .985 than 1.00 can be achieved. However, until then still bearish .937. I'll hang out and see what happens after news settles. Aussie moved up after bad econ data last night.

Well News only made it bearish! So no rate cut can take us towards parity. And again news makes fundamental moves, so you can't see them building within few hours, so if rate cut remains intact, hope for some north, if again they take it down to 2.50% then say hello to .93x but I guess cutting rate here have very low probability but again who knows!

Eh, I just see today as a reason to go up with dollar weakness. I am not convinced it has the will to continue. If the RBA cuts rates its gonna be a blow. The yield and the primary reason of buying the thing will be stripped away.

Well can't say actually. Actually 2.75 is lowest since 2008 or even before. So cutting from here have very low probability. We can see "hold" but again who knows.

They may cut just to keep it lower. They were blaming the "abnormally" high dollar for much of their fiscal woes.
