It's down to how much you want to risk per trade. Whichever way you look at it trading up to 20 pairs at a time you gonna need a significant account with stops this size. Strategy is good and does work but don't get any illusions you can trade this way with a 1000 dollar account.

Hi Pirt,

Sure, not problem at all. I started with 1000.-€, but I don´t recommend you such a small capital, unless like me, you must be ready for a margin call. I think 10.000.-€ would be better, safer, but I have 1000.-€ ready to lose it all. I put 1000, I place the EA, I close only when I said and I wait a few months....let´s see.......

Surely this seems to be a profitable strategy, but putting 10000 bucks from the start? Don't know about that. Risking 1000.- not a problem, that way I can further learn to master the method, and especially grow confidence in it as the account balance grows (hopefully). Thinking maybe 1000 bucks as Caillou did, 0.01 lots and no more that four pairs. This way margin call should probably be avoided, don't you think?

Suggest demo it as 100 pips says. The important thing is the pairs you choose. Look at 100 pips trade thing the clues are all in there.

Maybe, do what you feel comfortable with, but if you trade only 4 pairs, be sure to select 4 non highly correlated........

I don't think you can trade this with 4 pairs its the more the better looking basically to pick up on a trend. Look at the NZD on pips trade explorer. Basically you hedging waiting for a good run on a few pairs.

Not sure if this would be right way of looking at the pairs, but I did it anyway to see if there were any 'naughty' pairs giving us more negative pips as compared to 'well behaved ones' which have been giving more positive pips.

Results are interesting, and also depend upon the fact if 100pips, Khaled and myself chose the same pairs or not. I've ignored the pairs other than f/x. Also, I am using 300 pip hard stop, 75 pip trail profit, and 10000 pip hard profit

I collected all the results from the 'Trade Report' tab of respective explorers and just did a sub-total on pairs and pips made.

Gives us good indication about which pairs are good to follow with this strategy. If you expand the grouping of the pairs you'll see same pair with 3 diff colour backgrounds which would indicate that they've been traded in all 3 explorers.

You might find same pairs in both 'positives' and 'negatives' tab, that means out of 3 people, it has been positive for some and negative for some. It is up to you to choose which one to trade and which one not to.

Actually, there's broker's I use with micro lots (full lot is $1000). So if you trade .01 lots you are trading $10. They give you 500:1 leverage so with a $100 account that's $50,000 in margin. At $10 per trade that should allow you to open up 5,000 trades in theory. Obviously they're going to require a maintenance margin so it won't work out to that many in practice but you shouldn't have any margin problems. If you're trading 20 pairs with a max of 8 trades open per pair you should have no problem.

Think I might try that this week. Seems to be worth the $100 stake. I hate demos

Anyways, if I put real money on fx, it's money I'm ready to lose. (Done that before ). I have demoed this strategy for weeks now, and it's excellent. But as you said, past performance is no guarantee for the future, I know that. But wth, we're all here for a reason, aren't we. I have tried many methods (some have been better/worse that others), I have lost some money (who hasn't?) I'm unable to keep the same mental state when I'm playing with a demo and a live account. I concentrate a lot more, and stick much more to the rules when it's for real. With that being said, I don't want to throw away my money either, that's why I ask my fellow traders what they think, just looking for opinions, not guarantees.

Hmmm, I've had all 21 FX pairs' EAs set to MAXPositions = 1. This strategy has been working well for me using .03 lots in a mini account. However, this morning, my GBPUSD pair opened two trades at the same time. I'm wondering how that could have happened...
