I think I hold the best carry trade of all: short USD/INR. (India has 7.25% interest).

That's true. I don't believe that pair is available to me.

I think the PESO might be a bit better rate.. not positive on that though. No one wants to own that.. except after 2008. If you shorted (short dollar/long peso) then you would be sitting pretty for the last 5 years.

If you got USD/INR at a good price you may as well hold it until you get stopped out, if you ever do.

I sell everything 55.00 and up. I hold 10,950,084 rupees now and that gives me $27.16 per day in interest.

Sorry for not posting today.

I didn't take any scalps. Figured the action would be pretty bad with the bank holidays, but looking at the charts, it was still decent for scalping.

Just kept my long AJ 99.90 and AU 9749 from a few hours after market open yesterday


Just now took off 75% of my long in AU @ 9817 (+68 pips).. don't even care about the swap. Not when the down trend is this strong.


Carry is only important to me when trend is bullish...


I see a few of you also took some longs.

Trading like a true pro.

Only multi millionaires really care about carry trades. They can truly live very well off of them. Im just working on my skill in identifying carry trades to take.

But still, $27.16 a day... not bad at all. Considering you get the swaps on weekends too, you could actually live off of that even in the U.S., although more as a bare minimalist.
