I want to share the following with everybody here. The results and statistics that you will find below are from trading GBP/AUD since roughly April 2011 through the present. The 5 different sets of results are due to different Stop Losses, Take Profits, and Max Positions. However, all of the below forward tested results are done using the D1 for overall trend and H1 for entry points. They are ALL swing trade results so look at the statistics and trade history. These trade results and statistics were achieved using the D1 MACD and H1 Williams %.

**The reason I'm sharing this with all of you is because GBP/AUD has been the most profitable pair to trade using my other swing strategy so I don't see why we shouldn't look to profit from this pair using the D1 20 EMA & 50 EMA strategy as best as possible!

GBP/AUD (April 2011 - May 2013)

Total Trades: 170

Total Pips: 12,626

Win Rate: 55.29%

Profit Factor: 2.08

Max Positions: 4

GBP/AUD (September 2011 - May 2013)

Total Trades: 118

Total Pips: 8,984

Win Rate: 50%

Profit Factor: 2.32

Win Rate: 53.79%

After getting some PM and read the thread, I would like to point out something about the EA.

Mr. 100PipsADay is a genius and brilliant trader I have ever seen. According to his trading experience for years he has discovered an excellent trading strategy which is all you know, a part of Third Screen Strategy developed by Dr. Alexander Elder. He uses D1 MACD to identify daily trend you know. Once he decided to test the system by using 20 & 50 EMA on daily TF. I just developed an EA to help him to see how the strategy works. The EA has some unique feature which has been developed according his requirement and request. All of you find that the EA works very nicely. I have developed more then 50 EAs myself. But I found this EA is the best one yet.

I found here somebody very exited with this EA. I want to tell you to be careful as the EA has no valid exit strategy except SL and TP. Please see the attached chart someone showed me. At the marking point the EA would open long positions max 8 (as per setting) and you would die here no doubt. (I don't know how I would make you understand the matter as I am not a professional trader but a logical programmer)

The EA is still in beta mode and free for all. I have a plan to develop it more with built in MM and RM. And also will implement another screen (4 Hour) to filter out possible false signals to minimize possible looses. Also ATR/ADR driven SL/TP to make this EA more profitable.

I personally thanks to everybody to share your experience here regarding the EA. Special thanks to Mr. Erebus for his continue effort to help people to install, configure, settings etc with the EA patiently.

Finally I am grateful to Mr. 100PipsADay for starting such this fantastic thread and gather us all together to share our thoughts.

Afterward I will post my analysis from my logical point of view to gather your opinion.

Excellent post my friend! Everybody needs to understand that this gentleman here, Khaled_ctg, has programmed this EA according to the recommended rules and parameters so this thread would not even exist without him. Again, please show your gratitude to this man for taking his time to program an EA for all of us to utilize.

The above statistics for GBP/AUD were achieved using D1 MACD and H1 Williams % indicator NOT the 20 EMA and 50 EMA. All I wanted to point out was the fact that GBP/AUD trends very nicely and should be one of our most profitable pairs if we use a little discretion.

As for this strategy I just wanted to point out that GBP/AUD trends nicely and has a good average daily range for trend trading.

Thank you my friend. But I am not such as you told.
Anyway, the EA can be programmed to disable itself after 8 (max) position and wait for opposite direction !!! So no more manual work.

I have a little confusion about PA. Please see the chart attached. I can understand scenario 1, 2 , 3, 4. But what would you say about scenario 5?? !!!

*I wouldn't buy or sell at this level. To be honest though, I have never traded this pair so I don't really have much insight, however, just by looking at the charts I wouldn't buy right now!

Thanks for the praise, no problem helping members with MetaTrader, I know most of the basic stuff and even some tricky items.

But you deserve all the praise for writing such a great EA which can only get better with refinement. My only question, the EA takes trades as soon as the lines of Williams % R are broken by the calculations of MT4, however the line is still moving up & down as price may be fluctuating - have you considered to set the EA to open the trade only after the 1 hour bar has closed and the break of the W%R line is still valid?

Yah It can be done. But 100PipsADay guided me to open a position as soon as W %R goes to OB/OS area. And I hope the EA is doing so.

Hi Erebus - how are you?

From the way I was reading the entry criteria, I didn't think it made a whole bunch of difference whether the H1 candle closed in overbought/oversold territory, hust the breaking into the zone was enough to qualify the entry.

Just a thought.

What day the EA open 8 positions ?

1 february 2013 is NFP, maybe disable the EA before NFP ?

Hi BritPip,

Believe it or not, it is a major difference if we wait for the H1 candle to close in over sold / over bought area vs. just touching over sold / over bought area. Due to the fact that we are swing trading we can be more flexible with our entry points which is why I don't want to wait for H1 candle to close.

We would actually miss out on quite a few entries if we waited for candle to close from what I can tell.

Anyways, I'm glad to have you on our thread.

Yes, I understand how the EA enters, I have watched it in real time, but I thought I got popped into the first NZD-JPY trade a bit early the other day is why I mention this, see the chart, and thought waiting for the candle to close may have given a better entry.

Of course, some trades may also be missed of course. I am looking into some backtesting software to check these options myself.

There are plenty of early entries today, along with existing open trades to offset this drawdown for now. I think that anyone thinking about this has to the use big stops recommended, position size accordingly, take a portfolio type view, allow time for the trades to develop, as per 100pipsaday Trade Explorer.

If all 8 of his positions hit the target, on multiple pairs, the results will be awesome.

Furthermore to my comments about 1 hour bar closing, see this morning example of SELL entry on AUD-USD

The price jumped up, trade was entered as W%R line of -20 was broken, however price went back down and the next bar was even lower

Sure, an excellent trade entry, especially if that is the high for Aussie today, I doubt it, but sure makes hard to do a back test, don't you agree?

Even visually you would not think that was an entry, that is why I think a hard close of the candle AND the break of the line(s) is required to do a legitimate backtest

I tried to attach your D1 EMA 20&50 EA into my demo account because your system is so great and interesting! I don't know if I am wrong in some set up steps, but it appears the word "EA disable" a little bit below the right MT4 corner. This is the first time I use Expert Advisor and EA, so please help me. Thanks very very much!

Have you turned off the EA on GBPAUD due to the seeming bounce off of weekly resistance from 12/30/12? In my daily charts (IBFX), I have something of a bearish pin bar.

I actually just activated it again a few minutes ago. Looking to get in one more round of trades. Weekly candle is still bullish so not going to fight the current trend.

However, I am expecting some sort of retrace as price needs to move back to the 20 EMA. It has moved too high to fast and is in need of a retrace. Hopefully I'll be able to get a total of 6-8 BUY positions in the coming days.
