Tinfoil hat wearer, please answer me and tell me where anyone advocated martingale on 7 trades like you asserted? This thread is about trading breakouts, martingale is and has been very secondary to the system.

He simply missed the point where I was showing how every CZ eventually breaks from a range; he appears to think I traded all of them instead of being able to accept a loss. He saw that it took 7 trades and thought he needed 100 % wins and that I was advocating 7 trades MGaled to get there. I laughed so hard when I saw this. Anyways, after ForexFury commented that some wished we still posted around here, I thought I could give it one last chance... but now I am officially done. My last contribution was a good visual, and there is nothing that can be added here. I knew it would come to this, just didn't expect it to happen as fast.

Before everyone goes their separate ways, could you guys give your thoughts on how to keep up with the constantly changing market? Since any setting wont work forever, in what circumstances do accept that the settings arent viable anymore and change them?
Anyone can find settings that show profit for the last 100 days, but how you handle these situations decides do you make it in this business using the indicator.

I agree. People need to read the entire thread before posting. If Argon had done this, then he would have understood the point that Jay was making.......

its not about.settings its about a constant market behavior. trend or consolidate. every market has done this since marrk
ts first traded. this focus on settings is a side show.

So I assume that you use the indicator only to help indentify consolidation zones? If so would you want to open up a bit and give a little insight how you trade them? Do you use support and resistance etc. as your takeprofit levels? Do you let some cz's pass because you didn't like them for some reason, and things like that?

And I agree that being obsessed with the indicator ain't a good thing so do not take this as me questioning your knowledge, I just see you as one of those who have mastered this system and I want to learn from you.

no trades to post today but I like the look of usdjpy and eurjpy both have some potiential if they stay on course untill tomorrow

i cant see anything else or my charts what do you guys think and see - give me some charts to if you can...

todays big move was definately the eurgbp what with bad data and cable not being in much of a cz to me anyway...

im also currently short eurusd at the moment

Attached you'll find my E/U trades from last week. I had 4 CZs; 2 wins, 2 losses. With my R/R slightly greater than 1:1 I came out on top.

I remember you trading daily charts in the past. Do you still trade those? Look forward to your future posts.

I am still gaining my confidence with this system. I am fighting the urge to be in all the time; especially after a loss. I am keeping an eye out for steady growth and trying to aim for a 2:1 RR. However, I am having a hard time finding that.

good stuff forexfury thinking like a sniper and resisting the urge to be all in is not easy especially when it looks exciting and your seeing big moves everywhere

Had my first attempt using SSBO today (demo only). I realised that I do yet fully know all of the rules, but I visually identified 8 possible CZ's. I set six simultaneous pairs of high/low breakouts for 5 wins and one loss - a net total of 128.3 p. Best were: GU 53.8; EJ 38.5; and UJ 20.8. (The other two would also have produced good wins if I had been game to set more)
Now I'm hooked and I will have to study the finer points a lot more.

Yes, I have traded this system without the indicator. This was during my initial phases with SSBO and I spent a few months with the boxes. As a matter of fact, I still have one of my windows with only the two artifacts. However, it was mostly to familiarize myself with SSBO and manually identifying CZs which I am comfortable with now. Ironically, I did trade it using a live account, albeit in sizes of .01 lots. The 100 day forward test I am doing on a demo account with a bigger lot size so I can get comfortable seeing the larger gains and losses. I also do not currently trade with Martingale to account for "fakeouts." I've been burned many a time by old Marty, more recently on a demo pair I've been testing even though it didn't show it on the indicator stats. (Due to repainting if EMA is used.) How has your luck been with Martingale Fexitrade?

I'm in the second week of my 100 day forward test and I've already learned a few things. Losses are having a psychological impact on me. When I was testing manually drawn CZs I did not trade them all. Now that I'm trading every CZ that appears losses are inevitable. It's made me question myself several times. When things are going great and everything according to plan you can't help but start hoping for greater things. But then a loss comes and another one and these same hopes become pipe dreams. You begin to ask yourself what were you thinking? Trading for a living? Living free and becoming a humanitarian? Derailing your career to chase something so illusive only a few people ever claim it as their own? These are the questions I'm grappling with as of now.

My goal is such and maybe you can give me some input based on your experiences. I am not greedy nor am I unrealistic. I prefer to have my charts as tight as possible with 2:1 RR with 50% on first trade. Doesn't matter how many pips it brings me. As AWOL and a few others outlined in the past the focus should be on the percentages rather than pip count. Even if that one setup brings in only 100 pips a month; I'd rather have a consistent 100 pips a month than 500 one month and -300 the next. I would then find a few more setups that would give me similar results and at the end of the month if I can maintain a consistent 300-500 pips/month I'd be truly humbled.

But again more pipe dreams. As SedonaPipper wisely stated, all this talk of settings is just a side show. It has been mentioned countless times by now and I'm sure you've also noticed that changing even 1 pip in range or buffer or 1 bar in length has a huge impact on both net pips and percentages. You can find the golden settings only to find two weeks later they don't "work" anymore.

Fexitrade, I challenge us to look at these CZs differently than the way we've been looking at them. What are we missing? It can't be about just the settings and stats. As SedonaPipper pointed ForexHard's charts sometimes even show negative pips; he is just using the indicator to identify the CZs. ForexHard even mentioned through the thread that it is possible to get at least 10 pips from virtually every CZ. As long as I'm not losing more pips than I'm making consistently I am happy.

Sorry for the long reply. I figured I'd get my thoughts out there. Thanks for continuing to post. It's nice other SSBOers are still out there even in these troubled times.
