I also use Oanda. I setup the whole order several minutes before the trade and just watch the bid/ask. I keep the order window open and constantly adjust price and finally execute about 15 seconds before the release. I have been a long time lurker since the original CBBP and am happy to see what this has evolved into. It is truly trading the present as opposed to the past.

I followed to the letter, shorted at 1.29259 and got to the target profit as intended. There was ample profits left on the table of about 8 pips, but a safe win is a good win anytime!

Edited: Thanks Tony and congrads on yet another of your many wins! Good call! It's kind of entertaining to watch the rest of the world slog it out when we already booked our profits and exited safely.

Yeah but the only this is when I have a small account I have only be making small cash with such low leverage :/

Say I have a $500 account I can only be trading at $0.50/pip with a 7 pip SL thats only 0.7% of my account at risk which is nothing...

I am thinking the USD Core PPI might have a slightly more pronounced effect at 8:30 am ET later. Maybe good for 20 pips, what do you think?

Edit: On second thoughts, news releases from GBP might have some indirect effect on USD valuation. Not sure if its tradable.

Edit: Forget GBP... choppy. 5 sec chart says it's market is not quite decided on what to do with mixed news.

low volumes, low volatility, all locked in range, untradable bullshit market
unfortunately forex is no more the same market as years ago

Right now market is infected by bots, HFT and other shit.
Back in days breakout meant something, right now breakouts are used to took small profits in split of seconds, then price reverses, and so on and so on.

Ok, price reverse so lets open trade opposite to breakout....yea but it is endless story...up, down, up down in matter of seconds.

No one said that market is easy, and should be easy. But it is no more skill game, or psychology, it is more machines game. Even news don't make sence right now. Bad news price is rising, good news price is falling. Where is the logic?

I love to trade, and i earned some pips, my depo is bigger than year ago, but i think that im loosing control, trading is not fun for me anymore. It is starting to be scarry.

Maybe round numbers still have sence, but it is still only the number.
Maybe volume? Big candles without big orders behind them don't mean anything, right?

I'm sorry to learn that! I pulled back at the very last minute, was rather surprised price did not quite "behave".

I think it's all in the market dynamics, where the big boys already figured out where price should head, leaving retail players and clueless people to fight for scraps or get killed.

If my understanding of Tony's new strategy is right, it is to straddle both sides, doesn't matter whether the price reaction to the news is logical or not. Just play both sides, take your profits early and run. The other trade that was not triggered, just kill it before price retrace.

At least that's my intepretation of the Pure Elevation strategy.

Entered long for 2 standard lots of EURUSD @ 1.28688, exited very quickly at 1.28774 ... just a modest 8.6 pips gain. Job is done for the day!

Following this thread and Tony's method really transformed my trades for the past few days. Before I stumbled on this, I was pretty inconsistent, booking some massive losses which I am now trying to recover from.
