Missing MT4 profiles?

I just made about 70 profiles on MT4 on my local PC. I now want to move those profiles over to the MT4 on my VPS.

So I went to the /profiles folder to copy them onto my VPS install... but the profiles are no where to be seen?!?

It just lists the default profiles (which I had deleted from inside MT4) and none of the profiles I created.

The weird things is that if I open up MT4 with no charts open, and go to file > profiles, it shows the default list of profiles (the same as what is showing in the /profiles folder on my PC) and none of the custom profiles I created. But if I open up a chart - any chart - and THEN go to file > profiles it shows all of my custom profiles.

So where are all my profiles hiding???

It sounds like a UAC issue . . . your profiles are in your virtual store.

The simple solution is to not install MT4 in Program Files, instead install in a directory such as: C:\MT4Installs\broker

Try clicking on the "Compatibility files" tab at the top. This should reveal any profiles you have created.
