Thanks for sharing your backtest results. Wow, if you had left the Swiss Franc on the sidelines, you would have really done well. It must have been really choppy over the past year.

Problem is range. Lets look at the GBPCAD..As already said in this thread. We have ranges which go for moo than a year, three, five..and thats the real problem rite..
..all in all. Yearly there should be one or at least 2 strong waves of one currency gain/loss. As seen in JPY. As was seen in AUD few years back. And as was seen in JPY USD CHF few years back also..
Im working myself on Indexes of this 7 currencies. And pretty excited to get the indexes in also..

Well, as seen in GBPCAD range just does not pays off.

You are right on the ranging. And the problem is you never know which one (or two or three) are going to be ranging over the next year.

Was your test using the 6-hour delay or 12-hour delay? Just curious.

You could use one of the ATR MT4 indicators to see the numbers. Maybe use ATR 60, which would give the average daily range for the last 60 daily trading bars (almost three months). Its MkowaSS EA. I dont see any suggestions in the code what the delay is. No problem there. I think the volatility especially on a daily brings few other options where the entry could be. As seen till know over the simulations the levels of entry are sometimes really great, then the other times not so..
Im gonna do 12 years of testing next. Some pairs dont have the history. Some pairs when downloaded from MT4 are dysfunctional later on. So I think few problems will occur.

ADR and AWR is pretty much hard to figure out, yes. At least which number of averages to pick. I would pick lower number of averages which indirectly shows the current sentiment of the market and pairs volatility I guess.

EA Update:

There is a bug on the Breakeven function which I will get to. It is causing the EA to get out too quickly. Until I get a chance to fix it just set the breakeven to a very high amount so it doesn't trigger.

I am currently redoing the EA in the Zorro platform which when I finish will allow me to quickly do a much more thorough back testing, optimization and walk forward analyses in order to determine the best settings for each pair. It will also be easier to test whether it might be better to close open trades on a pair if the signal completely reverses and open trades in the opposite direction etc. I also want to compare this with the Third Screen strategy. I want to get this done first and then go back to the EA for MT4 and make all the updates at once.

Hello to everybody! I have found that system very interesting, and i want to test it on a demo account too, but i am not sure about the EA settings. how to set the fix lot? the first opened trade was 1L and not 0.1. i want to deactivate the ATR TP and Trailing Stop, is it correct to do correctly the test? Have i to set "zero" on the fields "ATRTP" and Trailing Stop?
