first entered short as i thought there will be a strong momentum, exited with 1 pip loss, reversed after price failed to go lower, exited with 13 pips

took long trade at the close of the vertical red line as a PA trade. thought it was a break of the channel that had been forming 1 hour prior to my entry. moreover there was a strong bullish 1 hour candle and divergence on TDI, plus 5 min tma sloping up.

exited with 10 pips loss. any comments appreciated!

A quick trade on $/yen= + 11pips - spread= ~+9 pips.

My two cents: You were right about the railroad tracks on the H1 along with the crossing of the TDI. It was right around the 50 line though, so I would wait for confirmation on which way the movers are taking it. You are also right at the center line of the H4 TMA, which can serve as a dynamic support and resistance. Things that would make you take pause. Now, this is easy in hindsight. I certainly see why you did go long there. As it turns out, you were right, but your timing was wrong. However, it appears that a 15 point stop would have kept you in. It appears to be only a 13 point loss before it took off north.

I am also messing around with using a M15 chart as opposed to the H1. I still like the H1, but am curious what this does with M15 filter instead.

Tonny, on this M15 chart, you can more clearly see how the H1 centerline capped you at your long. I hope you got back in this long!

jeff, great trade, but you should have a look at other brokers in my opinion, 2 pips spread on usdjpy is a lot for such a slow moving pair. you can compare different broker spreads here

yes, i can see it clearly here on 15 min. the problem is that i can justify why trade didnt work in the hindsight. i can always find at least one reason why not to enter pretty much for any trade if i want to (if you know what i mean.

missed the move up since i wasnt at the computer, but currently short countertrend and already moved stop to break even

I'm just looking for a new broker but it is quite difficult! For scalping I wonder if it is better to chose an ecn or no-dealing desk broker.
