Just keep in mind that these are my opinions only, I believe the way I believe and I feel in the long run that will be the profitable way to go, but there will always be situations where the opposite will be the case. I do think that if moving or trailing stops are to be used they need to be researched as part of the method and not just arbitrarily done because it feels good at the moment. In my case I analyzed my testing results to see what would have happened if I locked in profits at certain levels, and used other more conservative exit triggers, and in every case the overall profit was less, so I am sticking to my trading plan.

Should have been a positive week but missed some good trades as mentioned above on April 17. Overall still hanging in there, been a rough couple of weeks but still the damage is minimal and will easily be overcome with some winning days.

Took it on the chin today with the huge spike down on the yen pairs a little after 1:00 PM New York time over the AP twitter account hack and false report of the explosions at the US White House. Amazing how twitter seems to be controlling the universe these days.

yeah, bet there were a whole pack of traders whacked on that deal..... must have been devastaing for many over leveraged accounts..... and to see it come back minutes later would have hurt even more....h
to trade and code, keep both simple... no call to impress....h

It's crazy that something like that, a false report, can come out of nowhere and have such impact on the financial markets. I read that it temporarily wiped out $136.5 billion of the value of the S&P 500 index. But for those of us trying to make it in this crazy game of fx, we can know that such a thing is not normal and while anything can happen at any time, thus the need to not risk too much on a trade and stick to a plan in terms of SL, etc., consistency in approach and patience long term will ultimately win out.

April 24 was the 20th day, the series was profitable (+426 pips weighted) in spite of some crazy stuff happening on April 23 and generally bad results for the last few weeks. So, with some better discipline needed (properly executed trades) and no more AP twitter hacks (well, no way to know about that, hopefully the next time that kind of thing happens I will be on the right side of the trade), I'm still encouraged going forward. I mentioned in the profile page for my trade explorer that I hope to see 4 out of 5 of these series of 20 days be profitable, that will make a total of about 500 live trades with my method which should happen around the middle of August. If things are looking good at that point then I think I might be able to consider this to be more than a lucky streak but a real edge, we'll see what happens.

Closed early due to Friday discretion, as of now price has retraced so that is working in my favor, we'll see if the yen pairs go back down which would have given me more profits. But it's been a crazy week, and I also have to go somewhere in a bit so will not be able to monitor the trades, seemed like a good time to call it a day and a week.
