I'm starting this thread just for information and invite you to share your trading experience. Your net gain/loss since you have been trading. I have been trading since three years and i have not found any body who tell me that he/she earn in trading/forex or have been earning in forex since long time. People i met personally 97 out of 100 confess that they had lose money.

I tried online to find out people who earn lot from forex or have been earning consistently since long but no information found. may be i am dumb in searching.

I have been trading since last three years and after a loss and mistakes i have developed a strategy that fits with my personality and since last six months i start with small investment and have been strict to its rule and earning 15-20 % monthly return on average.

the only problem is that, online, people will tell you exactly what you want to hear.
I have my doubt's about how many of this forum's users are actual traders on live accounts
anyway, if what you said it's true, you deserve a thumbs up, so,
keep up the good work

Hi Muhiuddin,

For me the journey has been nearly 4 years. I've blown out a couple of smaller accounts, made most of the rookie mistakes. Last year I was made redundant and decided to take things more seriously. For me the keys are a good solid trading strategy, a solid trading plan, good risk management and control over your emotions.

I am just in the phase of going to live trading. But over the last 7 months I've spent 12 hours per day nearly everyday learning my strategy, practising, back testing and simulating. Luckily I have had mentors available to help me through my journey over the last 7 months.

I wish you well in your journey

On the exact $ and cents, not sure why you would want to know since the figures would vary..and on why they have not been forthcoming, well chalk it up to "human nature"..
But you can check out Fxbook, review trader's info,, figure out the pips earned, etc.

When you achieve this level of getting profit consistently then you do not need to work for any other thing. Just enjoy the profits and get financial freedom.

This is all that matters, the best traders do not go on forums bragging, they spend time perfecting their system. You are doing well now, so just stay focused. Listening to other people is called noise.

actually the biggest mistake made by traders is very very simple yet very hard to master. it's called consistency

you are looking for people with consistent earning yet we all know be a consistent trader is a rather difficult matter.

i will say it like this. When we are in losing streak for let's say 3-4 times we start to having doubts about our technique then we start to look at different pairs, start to look at different timeframe, start to modify our technique, start to learn other method, etc. etc. and it would result in more and more losses. It happened to me and I think every trader had this moment too. I learnt it the hard way.

"hey if only i would stick to the same method and didnt try to change it at all, i would have been profitable by now. I missed 4-5 trades that i didnt take because i was experimenting with other methods and other pairs that i shouldnt even consider to learn"

you know that kind of issue. It happened to me lots of times and i even had to buy hypnotize book to give suggestion to myself so i would keep faith no matter what happens. nowadays even if i had 2-3 losing streaks i wouldnt care because i know i would get my money back from the market the next day or week or next 2 weeks or whatever. basically i try to suggest myself that i shouldnt experiment with anything else. dont try to reinvent the wheels. I used to play just euro then i wouldnt even bother to look at another pair. I only trade on current trend and PA then i wouldnt bother to learn how to catch the top or bottom.

A week ago i met a senior trader in real life. he once told me exactly the same thing. The main problem with most traders is just one - consistency. When you have bad/rainy days you start having doubts which is quite normal. but every technique out there always have its own bad days/bad weeks/bad months, whatever. however, with proper risk management, you can always turn it around and in long run you can always be profitable. Problem is just simple, people dont have patience. Forex is all about patience i guess.

I have been trading for almost a year (with the first few months just throwing money to broker, totally gambling!). maybe still nothing compared to you guys but the last 4-5 months have been great because i never try to reinvent the wheel. I learned again and again from a method here and use it on my own and i even didnt change anything. just a bit TP/SL adjustment to suit my personality and that's it. It works! I had moments where I had doubts but keeping faith is the only thing that I needed. I was right. The moment i stop being inconsistent and jump from one method to another, it was the moment i could really make money and be consistent ever since (well at least so far!)

and btw those who learn with demo account, i would say that you should really ready to burn real money. It's very very different atmosphere to trade demo and live account guys. I mean it. Consider it like this. When you have $5000 and you lose $1000 then you would start having doubt because you now only have $4000. It's different with demo account where people dont give a dam* about it and just continue trading. This kind of psychology training can only be achieved through real live account. what i mean by "real live account" is kind of money that you think is serious enough for you. so if you have $1000 in your bank account, use at least $300 (but not all of them!) if you have $10,000, use at least $3000. that kind of thing you know. so when you lose money, you would start feeling "WTF did i just do". This is very very important. i learned it the hard way but it's well worth it. If i never through those bumpy roads maybe i wouldnt be here. And i still have lots to learn still!

That's why for me, learning forex is even harder than relationship. Sorry for the stupid analogy but I think they are similar, just forex is harder. In certain situations, you would feel your GF might not love you anymore, you would feel that your relationship is now different, etc. etc. every relationship ever had this kind of moment but the loyal people stand still because they love each other. Forex? It's not the same. There are always bad days and bad weeks (just like relationship) but you cant love the forex bars right? LOL. so when bad days happened you have to keep faith without the "love" feeling. That's why it's harder than relationship and i think that's also why most people lose. so imagine it like this. lots of people break up. forex, which is similar to relationship but without the "love" feeling, obviously is harder to maintain! because when they start losing they start feeling doubt, then they start switching technique, etc. etc. this kind of inconsistency is actually what killing their accounts.

backtesting also helps. It helps us to understand our method and what might happen in rainy days/weeks. Forex Tester paid service or FXCM paid data works!

For earning consistently in forex we need to make ourselves good traders. Emotionless and fearless traders earn consistently from trading. This level of perfection can be achieved after a long time of experience and trading.

Consistency is the most critical aspect in the forex trading business, and all the traders are struggling to get this consistency in their trades so that they can obtain good profits which will help them grow as forex traders.

We can learn anything if we want it bad enough. Learning to avoid losses with FOREX trading is like learning not to get burned by a flame or hot stove. You must get burned to understand the threat. The only sad part is these lessons hurt. But like learning to ride a bike, you never forget. Because we're not machines(thank God), we are in a constant struggle with our emotions. Also, it takes lots of practice to overcome the fatigue that avid trading causes. Fatigue and emotions are enemies of day traders. If we can effectively analyze our innermost selves, nothing will be found too complex on the outside.

Keep in mind, these forums are often fun and informative when time allows, but unless you're an attention seeking narcissist, earnings wont be divulged and because hope springs eternal, we tend to dwell on inspirational themes and downplay the negative. Just be aware, heartache abounds throughout these forums and elsewhere.

2 years demo, whoa..that's a long time. But glad you are live now, so how does the experience (demo vs live) translate? Just curious to see if you were able to make the same returns or better..

I have experience less than 3 years, and all the people I know too. The reason I guess is the retail Forex is quite young sphere. Also there is a lot of stories about scam here, that's why for most people it could look not so attractive. But competition and improvement of economic education do well, so I hope this field will continue to develop and from year to year there will be more specialists.

I have been trading from three years now and in my first i have made money and also lost more money than what i had made, one year was spent for learning, understanding the market movement, psychological aspects, total account management, now in my third year of forex trading career i have been able to recover my lost money (though its profits i consider it as recovery). I have small account of about $500 and i make $250 each month which is a lot for me now. Compounding my capital money so that i can take lot size according to my capital money to make more money.
