A help to keep you out of the chop (Range bound) on the M1 is to add the ATR Pip indicator set to 14 . If its below 3 don't trade until its above it.

ps, I know price could explode out even if its only reading say 1 or 2, but its just a good gauge of when to keep out.

Thank you, ECO, I appreciate your help.

For me adding even one additional indicator is a big deal, I would say a huge deal, I have to be absolutely sure that it is worth it.

I tried several anti-chop indicators, so far couldn't find anything worth my while. I'll try the ATR Pip indicator, thank you!

Right now I'm getting ready to test iVAR, looks like this (below 0.5 - trend):

No. I mean 3 pips . Download the ATR pips indicator. Not the normal ATR indie.

thought this would be a good long losing 10 pips. not sure how to avoid these. down about 21 pips for today . will need to reread the manual

Hi Tonny47,

I took the same one...thought it was a..."through the cloud" setup. Did not see anything wrong with it myself even on the higher TF. I only started to worry when it was struggling to reach new highs so I came out for -6 pips. Maybe someone else will spot something wrong but I will just accept it and move on.

I also took that exact trade.

I thought it was a "through the clouds". However, the bottom TMA1 band had not broken through the cloud yet so with hindsight I suppose I should have waited for this confirmation. I was too hasty.

As someone else said earlier I think I have learnt more in the past few weeks than in the whole of the last 2 years. Big thanks to Fav.

I just need to be disciplined now.

Guys, I explained all these mistakes before.

The previous swing was huge, and all your so called "higher highs" are not valid! Guys, read Lance Beggs!

You didn't pay any attention to H1. By this moment green line was horizontal, Heiken Ashi were decreasing, you had a very good black previous candle and the new candle was forming down.

And there is no such a thing as a "through the clouds setup".

Flaviu1981, it is a Metatrader4's screw-up. You already deleted the old template and got a new one, but the name of the template is the same and sometimes Metatrader4 gets confused.

So you just go into the settings- Colors and in the first line, that says "0", choose color - black and style - dotted.
