I agree. SIG shows me a close of 150.98. If so, we closed at the bottom of support area 151 - 151.70. That's great! I can't show it on my CLOSED chart at 151.46 but, at 150.98 it's a nice weekly bar closed under the 76.4 as well. {image}

okay, let's pause for a moment - has anyone looked at the weekly chart? today's close made it very interesting considering we have been in an uptrend for about one year. wouldn't it be time to get a real pullback, just like this one? 133-136 in a couple of weeks, before shooting again for the stars.

i know we're all happy selling the yen long-term... supposedly... but what i see now on weekly chart makes me think very carefully about the bullish continuation in the very near term. i must consider the possibility that we may have just seen the top for a couple of months. we'll see what next week brings.

in the meantime, i will continue trading the short- and medium-term trends. short term trend is down, and i don't see any signs of accumulation so there is a high chance we will see a lower low next week. when this drop runs out of gas, we'll take it from there.

patience and keep this chart in the back of your mind.

It's definitely interesting, Scrat. I think the main issue I have is the BoJ... obviously. But that's why I plan on taking it one day at a time and trading the immediate trend.

I also just noticed (or remembered) that the 23.6% fibo from the monthly chart is at 148.54 and our most recent double top on the weekly is just a hair below that level. I wouldn't be surprised to see us test this level at a very minimum.

I missed out on the early April yen pair spikes which insanely bums me out because I was looking at buying USD/JPY @ 92-92.5 which would have netted my 800 or so pips.

But looking at the GBP/JPY and USD/JPY today, they both it the 23.6% Fib, but that does not fill the gap of the previous Monday. I'm looking at the 38.2% Fibs on both pairs which fills that gap nicely:

GBP/JPY: 148.65
USD/JPY: 97.10

And If something crazy happens and the pairs break through the 38.2%, the 50% Fibs on both pairs land on great support on the 1Day charts:

GBP/JPY: 147 area
USD/JPY: 96.30

---

The Reversal candle on the weekly for both pairs seems to have people worried I welcome it, I personally want these pairs to fall, so the boj will step back in and dump on the yen some more.

Hey bro, it happened exactly as expected, market closed at 150.88, this is +221 pips from my entry. But to tell the truth, I didn't capture all ride because went to sleep and closed my positions, anyways it was an amazing day, I had pending shorts for all yen crosses, but just gbp/jpy triggered initially and to minimize the risk I canceled the other shorts, the potential pips to be capture within the yen crosses was over 600 pips for the day. Not bad at all.

By the way, my TP was wrong there, it supposed to be at 150.50.

All the best to everyone and let's have a great weekend.

I would agree it's entirely possible as well Scrat. My thinking for the first areas that could be hit were here (I mistyped 141.40 for 145.40 but it's on the chart).

http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...86#post6600786

Like Geppy, I too have the BoJ on the brain and since fundies are beyond me (as of now), really don't know the short-mid term effects it will have. But the monthly 23.6% (I have 148.52ish in the link below) Geppy speaks of would need to go as it is a weekly double top as he says so I think at least a test will happen there first. If that goes the 145.40 area should be next. So like him I'm trying to keep a short day/week trading view right now.

http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...20#post6600920

All that said, what I find interesting is both you and I had sells at the beginning of the week right where I have them again! I took a loss on them to go long, then took a loss on the longs thinking it would go to 145ish after breaking that area....LOL Hindsight is of course 20/20 but how I wish I'd just held them now. The point is, it would seem we were both looking an overdue correction.

Not sure what to make of the chart right now, IMO either it'll break through this support around 151 where its currently at and continue on down to the 146.60 area, or it'll stall and move back up to re-test the high around 153-154 provided it breaks through the 152.25-152.70 area. But lets see where she opens come Monday. I've got a few areas in mind of where I'll be entering positions.

Sorry about the small chart, I'm on the laptop.

Good morning GDR

I'm curious what MA you have on this 4H chart?

Also, I notice you put a lot of attention into those 4H spinning tops and remember you saying (last week I think) that when you see them, the next bar often tests the low/high and then takes off in the current trend direction. I've been looking back at some since you said that and it would seem more often than not it happens. Interesting and something I will watch in the coming days/weeks.
