I personally use a lock instead of SL. This lock is so small (15 pips) that even if I get one, I can unlock it very fast and without any problems.

First, thanks for pionting this thread out to me it looks very effective and looks like there are loads of good traders here to learn from.

I'm sure this is a daft question but what do you mean by a lock??? Is that taking the opposite trade rather than using a stop therefore locking in say 15 pips loss??

Then when the time is right trade your way out of it or at worst just take the loss??

If that is the case it sounds easy and I have tried it a few times but struggle to exit the lock at break even or even at 15 pips loss.

So could you cover the best way to get yourself out of a lock with as little pain as possible??

Locking is a very vast subject, but I think I explained how I work with the locks pretty good in this post:

Hi bfree,
I use 50pips on eu and 100pips on ej, gj, uj .. Sometimes I cut it as soon as I realize the trade is bad (seldom happen)

I manage my greed/fear with 2 trades/day and 5pips/trade. Sometimes I got caught up by my greed and end up losing. Which then come the fear. Because when greed/fear is there, there is an urge to enter trade without clear analyze. Till I accept the truth over and over again that 'no one can predict market accurately', I stop accusing myself (this is the hard one) and I got back on my path.

I believe that psychology of trading and right money management are my best cards to win. That's what I mainly focus on like doing experiment on money management, learning trading psychology from experts.

I must apologize, i dont tell until now on this tread about my SL,
I try to have (learn) a Mental SL.i try all the time to learn something new.
Someone sayed to me one time "You are stupid,when its work, why to change?"
Because for so I am ! All in this world is in change,every time in every second.
Im most of time high speed and high volume of trades (300-1100 trades/day when i have time!)
from 10 sec to ...1 hour,trying to mix diferent time frame
(conventional & nonconventional) with atipic charts frame (Renko,ticks charts)
And take orders on diferent charts and to manage this separatly
I prefer multi monitor configuration (3 monitors most of time),because i prefer to have every pixel free for charting.
Terminal,market watch and navigator with another tools is on another monitor

I say again i not trade for living, just to learn something new.
I have plenty of small live account on diferent brokers for testing purpose.
You dont believe how much can you learm about a broker on live account with him.
I do not trade more demos or backtesting.
A small tip : dont be afraid to lose sometime, is even healthy to lose some time.
This will keep you ... hot for trading

But i must be honest now this account have just ...63.42€
I let (with negativ PL) on this acc. yesterday my wife to trade to see how "easy" is for "beting"...
She just push..."close all" on 01.15am.
For mistakes no escuse!
I take this easy ...
... i love my wife ...
....is a learning process...
...but "dont trust your wife " on this ...

CCI setings are the fibonacci numers !(just a idea cross my mind)
But be carefull, dont trust just on CCI (non lag indicator) , make you home work with DNA, Favorite and anothers setings /sistem !
I trade diferent from DNA style, but i like the idea.

Your method is very interesting.
You said it is possible to use it in 5mm tf.
In this case could you tell us what are the time frame of the tmas?
I suppose it is 5mm for the first tma but for the second is it 15mm or
30mm?

Hi Favorite, H then a L followed by a LH and LL. Babon, cloud OK and distance to TMA 5 bigger than 10 pips at the time went short at red vertical line and got stopped out. Your comments are appreciated.
