A technical question. I'm sure someone can enlighten me on this:

When I change something in a template (eg. genesis.tpl) and then save it under a different name (eg. genesis1.tpl), the file is saved in the templates folder.

BUT.. when I then open the templates folder to copy that new template, it's not listed there; YET.. it is in the list on the platform and it is visible in the templates folder whenever I update the file (overwrite with the same name), but there is a lock symbol by the file name.

Sorry for my chaotic explanation. The main question is how do I copy a template with the lock symbol (in order to move it to another platform)?

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. My MT4 is in C: Program Files (x86) if that could be useful info.

just save the template in other location (D partition for ex). it is a security problem, but if you select another location on your pc...is ok

Joanna, when you click "Save Template", you see the box asking where you want to save it and under which name. By default you save it in your "Templates" folder and after that you have the problem you described. If you choose to save it in "Documents" folder, for example, you can go after that to your "Documents" and find this file and copy it anywhere you want to.

You should take a look here : C:Users**Username**AppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram Files (x86)

On Win7 i don't install anymore in Program Files, i made a MT4 folder on C: so there is no problem.

Yes, I've been told that for the security reasons this file becomes invisible. I believe we have the same problem with saving the profiles too...

Some really good pips to be made today on eur/jpy , a couple running for more than 60+pips each, which brings me neatly to my question for Fav,
When you enter a trade , apart from the normal criteria, what are your thought processes to give you confidence to let trade run to hourly tma and sometimes further, what particular conditions are you looking at when making this decision.

If you want your missing templates or indicators they are in your virtual store in the program files.

I know you where joking but! about 3 years ago when I thought I was going to be a Billionaire that year I checked with my broker and he told me if I ever need to go over 30 contracts they can double me to 60, then I'm thinking what if I need more I keep hearing if you go over a 100 with a broker the execution if affected, so I found out about software that allows you to trade multiple accounts from one MT4 platform.

So example 20 accounts at 100 contracts each = 2000 etc... the panic was over and I started sleeping good again, the thing is I will never need it.

Geoff, I prefer to exit when the price crosses TMA M5 or TMA M15. I have to see a very good and strong movement to decide to go to TMA H1. But if I think there is a possibility to go to TMA H1 or even to TMA H4, I double-check my H1. First of all I want to know that we are not near the TMA H4 centerline (white line). This centerline is a very strong S/R. If the centerline is OK I look at the TMA H1 and TMA H4. I want to see that the price inside TMA H1 and inside TMA H4 goes in the same direction. The angle of the slope doesn't matter, only the price's direction is important! So if I think that we can go as low as the TMA H1 lower border, I want to see the price going from the TMA H4 upper border toward it's lower border and I want to see the price going from the TMA H1 upper border toward the lower border.

Exactly right! All we need is that the platform works when and how it's supposed to work and that the broker is not (too much of) a thief. Well, that's a good start at least
