Some resistance towards the 1.51500 mark.

I see, I'm slightly different as when I'm doing manual boxes I dont use a buffer so I include the wicks and dont wait for a close when it breaks. It means I can set buy/sell stops in preparation of the break. Essentially we seem to be doing the same thing but drawing slightly different boxes.

Another good one on GU on the 60 min. Clean break below dp to support the entry on ssbo. Downside? I was asleep with no orders in.

Just out of curiosity, I see that many of you are using the EMA filter, what applied price setting you are using? Is anyone using anything else than 0 ie. close?

The default is on the close. Given time I guess it is worth experimenting with. The downside of the EMA is that you cannot set a trade manager to the breakout lines and so have to be on your toes when it gives an entry signal. AFAIK.

Yeah, that's the main reason why I like more those settings without the EMA filter or candle close, but since I can be behind the desk most of the time when the breakout occurs it's not an obstacle I can't get over.

Which is one reason why I missed out on the overnight move in Yen. It's a trade off between increasing the 1st BO win % and being able to set and forget and or getting a full nights sleep. This mornings huge move would have probably satisfied my thirst for pips for at least a couple of weeks.

Yes, that's OK for a good portion of the time. Unfortunately we humans have to sleep and I know Jay was just complaining of missing and HX above same problem. What we need is a team. There was a guy some years ago here on FF who claimed he had a team manning his PC 24 hours a day. Yikes !

What are you doing up at this hour ? My excuse is I can't sleep after spending the whole day trying to optimise an older indi to trade from the lines. I had a great setup with what I call v05 but like an idiot I dropped version six in without saving the v05 templates and so lost all my settings, which had taken ages to get right. Now I take screenshots of the full setup. I use a tool called Inputresizer.mq4 which allows to make the settings box full screen height. It's on FF here somewhere.

Get off the demo and open a small live account it will teach you so much more. But be prepared to lose. Good luck.

5 out of the last 6 were winners on the 60 min. Didn't catch them all but it don't get much better.

My first post ever on this forum.

First I would like to say that I "stumbled" on this thread while searching for a breakout system. I have never traded before...EVER. But I was introduced to this market by a co-worker. So that started my research. I had been reading many different threads or websites regarding different strategies for trading. When I hit this thread, something about it just clicked and made sense. Made enough sense that I wanted to sign up to this forum. (In fact I signed up to be able to send ForexHard a PM to thank him for all his effort and time that he has put into this. However as a fresh member I can not do that, which I completely understand).

Anyways, I have spent the last week reading the entire thread, which I just finished. I have spent some time drawing manual boxes on charts, and i need more practice at this.

There were a couple time I almost posted to ask some questions, but I am glad that I didn't. By reading the thread and digging out information, it tends to stick with you more.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone here that has stuck it out for the long haul. I would like to thank ForexHard for sharing this method, Xu for all his time that has been spent and sounds like will be spent coding this. I would like to thank all of the "Captains" of this thread that have been helpful and posting of their charts. I hope that one day I can become a contributing member to this thread.
