[font=Times New Roman][size=3]My trading model has allowed me to profit on 75% of my trades over the last several years, but does that mean anything really, when compared to someone who wins 30% of their trades? Emphatically NO! The point is that it comes down to risk and money management and I know many new traders hate to hear those basic terms, but if you have a good RR ration on the winning trades, you can still make money over the long haul just winning 30% of the time. Even if many of us could have found a way to win 95% of our trades, we...

Hey, dude u laaaaaag !!!! (kidding, better late than never)

I would also add to the equation frequency (number of trades per period of time). Very high probability patterns are also very rare, usually. So even if the 95% system may have a higher expectancy than your 30% winning system you might grow your account more rapidly with your current 30% by trading more often. Hope I made sense here.

It depends... It is a numbers game...

Frequency become more important with methods that have lower WRs . . in other words, frequency is more important for a method that has a 10% WR than it is for a method that has a 95% WR

On the subject of methods that are meant to have a 100% WR, they have one very big advantage . . . they are easy to test. Any failure that cannot be explained away as user error means that the method is not 100% . . . the converse is true for method that have low WRs . . . to prove that a method does actually have the 10% WR that it is supposed to have is actually a very big job . . . if we look for 100 winners then we need a sample set of 1000 test trades. Has anyone here generated 1000 test trades in exactly the same way following a specific method ? I doubt it . . .
20 pips a day isn't too much to ask . . .

Thanks for asking the questions that bother you - there is more to this story than I care to share here but I will give you the quick version.

I can't trade 100% - some weeks I do and most others I screw something up in either execution or application.

I am an awful trader! I feel like crap 75% of the time I'm awake. I don't enjoy trading for the most part because I have other concerns that clog up my brain.

You mention that I must have made millions by now - this is possible and I've made a buck or two but had it not been for all the other...

Hi Skunny Im sorry to hear thing's havent gone well for you in the last few years . thing havent ben good for alot of people lately .
When i was growing up my father had few friends but the friends he had would do almost anything for him and be happy with a thank you and cold beer. My point is that it seems people have lost thare moral compass.
Some people wont things for nothing and when they get it , its on youtube the next day . I agree with you about the time/ hard work it takes to reach goals in life . I would be glad to pay you for the chance to learn from you and i would sign a non disclosure statment if you like.
I have ben trying to reach you threw your web sight . I havent had any luck with that. Thanks for you'r time .. Dumptruck

So I finally talked Darren in to coming to Kansas for a little vacation. Little did I know he was going to drink all of my moonshine and steal the neighbors tractor. You just can't trust these Brits!

cad/jpy is currently in retrace mode - dont try to guess a retrace unless your stop is just a few pips from why you made that decision. Wait for a smaller trade in the direction of your target - you dont need many pips you need solid ones - these markets aren't allowing for trades longer than what a 5-15 minute chart has to offer - market manipulation is at an all time high - they are on fear control and fibs only work on natural market movements. Take your ten pips and move on to the next trade.

Hey Guys -

Just read a few posts and I just want to make a few comments that should be common knowledge and/or common sense.

I can only share what I know to be true and if it helps someone then great, if it doesn't it doesn't - trading isn't easy and will never be easy.

I do not claim anything other than what I can see - I can see how the markets move and I believe I understand why. I don't honestly care if anyone else believes me or not because that isn't what drives me. This was a discussion thread and should remain that way for all to enjoy. I have learned a great deal more since this thread started so if you are like me you may have many hours yet to sacrifice to get to where I am (wherever that is lol). This thread currently holds very good information from a discussion stand point. To trade the market any other way requires an incredible money management system not a trading system - IMO of course.

I wish all of you the best of success but please don't look to me or anyone else for the exact answers you will understand. Find a way to discover and recognize the cycles that exist then exploit them as best you can.

The only way to see the markets move naturally is to have the collective actions/collective consciousness of the market recorded accurately. As we move on into a more manipulated market this will become much more difficult.

BTW - Ever hear of a market correction? What the hell is that? Best I can figure it is a name given by analysts to justify the market doing something they can't explain. In order to correct something, something would need to have been "incorrected". Natural/universal law doesn't incorrect so it must be intervention or artificial contamination that caused it to happen(not collective).

In today's market you need to be able to detect these unnatural moves and use them to your advantage or create a system that can survive them as they become more and more frequent and come with no warning.

Take care and good luck to all,
Skunny

What a thread. Skunny, Thank You.

P.S. if anyone stumbles upon this gem pay real close attention to the first 210 pages. Later on it gets spammed IMO.

Took me 3 tries to go through the whole thread, but today actually since yesterday i'm finito.

Again thank you all that have contributed

Oh sure. One thing i don't get is why people tried fighting facts? Theres some spam in this thread once skunny left but while he was policing this territory there was no nonsense. Amazing insight, thank you Skunny!
