This from the s3 4h.pdf the 4h swing trade strategy from the front page.

"We will look at TDI for a break in the blue bands, for an uptrend we will look at a break in bottom blue bands".

"When TDI is above Market base line and we in an uptrend then look for longs".

They contradict each-other ,It cannot be above market baseline and break bottom blue bands at the same time.

Also with the entries section of the s3 4h.pdf ,is there 3 trade setups or are all of them part of 1 trade setup.

1. You will enter at the open of the 2nd candle confirming with TDI cross. Do not enter when the candles are consolidating(small bodies with long wicks on both sides) or when it’s the 3rdor 4th candle.

2. When the blue bands are broken you will wait for TDI to comeback into the blue band and will wait for a change in candle
colour confirming the green TDI crossing the red TDI line in thedirection of the trend

3. When TDI above market base line and we in an uptrend we will
enter upward crosses on TDI. The opposite will apply for shorts

Hi M_M,

Thank you for posting and highlighting these.

You read that correctly but there is no contradiction to both statements. We we see that kind of conditions on the charts.

The best way in learning this is to back-test and look for each of the two conditions you mentioned using EU and GU H4 charts. Then follow with realtiem liove market forward testing.

Also, I had previously posted several setups when the TDI went outside the VB and then re-enters the VB blue band, after that the price action shows sideway or consolidation and then following divergence appears. This is one 'behaviour' of the TDI in realtion to its volatility show by the VB . We must learn to exploit such conditions and use that to enter the market and build up more positions when market is sdieway, and also look for that breakout after the consolidation. To do this, we must look at the next higher timeframe D and W price action for short term swing trades.

Go to the TMS thread where I will be posting there more often my time permitting.

I would like to ask about blue lines in your chart, are those Round Numbers lines, an indi?

and do you draw support and resistance lines from daily and the 4H chart?

Yeah is round number indicator. Attached. I do draw support/resistance from higher timeframes.

Does anyone have a free Average Daily Range Indicator (ADR) they can recommend apart from xadr?

For some reason xadr crashes my mt4 system since ive done a PC reload. I have checked .dll and adminstrative permissions etc. Only seems to be a problem with xadr. Anyone any ideas?

You are correct. I believe X-Man meant "market base line" is the 50 line, not the market base line (yellow line) between the blue volatility band from TDI.

If you have time, you can read the original EASY system from Dean Malone who invented this TDI. He mentioned that: we'll enter long when TDI > 50 (above the line), or short when TDI < 50 (under the line).

There is also the tip that if it's > 68, you shouldn't add more to your long position. (in fact, if you have the yellow line between the blue band, and that yellow line touches 68 level, very high chance that the price will reverse and go down. You rarely see it touches because it's an extreme condition as the trend reverses before the yellow line can touch).

The truth holds for short. You shouldn't add more to your short position if it's under 32. And trend will reverse when yellow line touch 32 level.

X-Man system exploits the factor that when the TDI breaks the volatility band, it's best to enter because the chance for it to go lower is not high, especially if the current trend is up.

This is one of my orders (live acc), with all the signals line up:

  1. long position
  2. blue candle appears
  3. above 200ema, 60ema
  4. TDI re-enter blue band and cross
  5. when I entered, the H4 trend is up instead down of like in the chart now
  6. Stoch indicates oversold (not in H4 S3 system)


Only one problem: it's bouncing off the top D1 channel. (And yes I knew it but still want to scalp 40 pips or so).

According to H4 S3 system, it'd hit SL and I'm out now now. However, I leave a little bit more space as there is strong support holding at 200ema. It's also a 32level on daily Fib. (i.e. where the horizontal line purple is). If it breaks I exit. Reward:Risk ratio is still > 1.

Note: please don't lose faith in this system. I just posted this bad trade for illustration purpose. There were a lot of good trades I had last week using this system. Let's say I close this losing position now, its lost is only equal to one good trade among these last week. And I still gained profits for last week but only ~120pips or so.
I pmed asking XMan why not coming back to this thread and he said there are 2 reasons: one is because he just got married, the other is because some people keep calling him liar when it doesn't work out and he was tired of it.

Also some tips about Monday gap: as seen in the above trade, I don't put SL for the trade because there will be monday gap.

Talk about worst case scenario, if I put SL and the gap is NOT in my favour: the order will be closed instantly when the market open on monday, hence it's an instant loss.

However, if I don't have SL, there is chance that:

  1. the gap will fill and I can close with smaller loss (or better scenario: in favour)
  2. the gap will not fill and I can decide when to close the trade


Hence not having a SL on Monday gap is the better option as you have some chance before accepting the loss if the gap is not in your favour.

Update: I have just attached one of my trade GCHF in the previous previous week to illustrate this Monday gap thing. I was 50pips+ by the end of Friday. So I moved SL to BE by the end of that day. Even it's set to the BE, on the open of the following Monday, the trade was automatically closed with -40pips loss. (so in total I lost 90 pips because I set SL to BE). So not having SL on Monday gap is always good if you do 4hr trading.

Two points of view on this

1 - never add in overbought region >68

2 - only add if the RSI line breaks the Upper Zone line, and then sell when if crosses back through the Upper Zone. There is more risk on these trades, as the RSI line usually doesn't stay up at that level for long, so is prone to fake outs.

Any advice appreciated. What could be improved on, why the entries were good or not.

Forum members,Im hoping some of you will do me a favour. If any of you noticed that I did not post slides for that day, please do not hesitate to interrogate why. I believe posting on Xman here is a form of consistency and perseverance as well. I could be busy or I could have made a bad trade and didnt want to show everyone. It will force me to account for my absence. Trading is a self formed discipline but a gentle nudge here and then is appreciated!

A very lazy question. How do you guys post several slides in one reply but are able to write underneath each of them? I seem to be only able to write at the top.

Last week has been pretty rough trade. Manage only single fine run 100pip EJ. Rest.. 2 trade of burning pips as well as triggering problem.

Yesterday, has 2 nice trade when the signal form during the LO. However, there's too much struggling until NO. Therefore, I had decided
to exit with minimal profits ( 10pips one EU + GU ) before NO. Basically if the trade has been not been closed, would have pocketed 50+50 also.

During NO open, there's oppurtunity to take EJ on rebounce signal, I took 0.02 lot with SL 100. 1st TP 100 and 2nd TP 150. Both run smoothly
and hit target. This is like a Hitting jackpot. As I've been busy with EJ movement I did not trade on other signal ( UJ & UC ).
