ok ive revised what is a cz is in my head the chart that im posting is the current usd cad - its a winner but MORE importantly would you call it a cz....

Much better, double hits to the top, hit to the bottom, then boom out she goes to the top.

well todays been good to me to more successful breakouts on eur usd and aus usd

still tell me what you think of the cz constructive criticism is most definitely welcome also did anyone else catch these breaks i cant be the only one

I also noticed that on the cad usd there was a resistance shattering move up and usd chf also ran really good - missed out on both though - gotta quit

The question is are you making pips/money with these boxes ? We really need to know what your indicator settings are to easily see how effective those boxes are. Either that or mark your entry and exit and how many pips profit you took from going through the excercise. You also need to show your stopped out trades - not in hindsight but going forward. Use the indicator if you want any comment on how effective your boxes are. Presently some people could win with those and some would lose with them.

I have to disagree, fxexit wants to use hand drawn boxes, by all means he should stick to it. I agree though that more information could be posted (entry, exit, etc.)

Personally if my box was hand drawn it would be narrower than yours. It would mean I wouldve taken a trade when it broke out to the downside and possible another trade long when it reentered the box and broke north.

looking at fexitrade's trades I have wondered also what stops and Tp he is using and the R:R. I think it easy now to identify where breakouts may occur, the difficulty lies in determining appropriate R:R. If you're aiming for 20 pip TP but have a 60 pip SL, then theres going to be problems.

as jay said im not using the indicator although i will start looking at it in maybe another couple of weeks might add perspective but i just want to

develop my senses for the czs at the moment.



my TPs is either 30pips from the break or .5 of the entry on 30 pips from the break and let the other half run at my discretion - depends on trend

strength and how pa is interacting with previous cz zones.

SL is set 2/3 on the opposite side of the box i admit though i have not really thought about this as much as i should as i set it to a rather arbitrary level infact thinking about it now is probably the kick i need to seriously think about it....

from now on ill post other info with my charts

Here's a little tool that can be helpful for finding your sweetspots. It quickly gives you the average daily range for the number of days you set it to. (experts/indicators/)

Hi Jay - The problem I see is the last breakout from the last box has not actually reached the TP line shown and closed, and is maybe not going to reach profit - going on that posted chart. It went to 1.0209 on my chart so maybe didn't reach the shown target, but we have no idea what HE is doing in terms of SL and TP. The boxes are OK but are the trades taken actually in profit ? I know he said he was happy with the result but the result is not shown on the chart so we have no confirmed idea of that result. Maybe I am being too picky.

I certainly agree that is the first basic issue and since he has said he will post more detail now we only have to wait and see. In the susequent post his MM is maybe OK but not really in line with the forum - at present, but I believe scaling out is coming. Interesting times.

Hello everyone,

I have my notifications alert set to 30. It works but when it takes a long trade I get the notification like 40 times? Anyone having this issue with multiple notifications?

I haven't seen anything in the tread as of yet that this is a problem. Thats why I ask.

I get one for a new cz and one for an entry and an alert for the qp - sometimes I may get more more notifications at the qp - still working through this. also if a new cz forms I will get alerts as each new bar is added that does not stop the formation of the new cz.

FWIW - I changed my alert.wav to something more melodius and longer lasting. It plays a pleasant chord thru my hi fi system which I can hear throughout most of the house. Repeating the original DING of the alert.wav or some such I found too irritating. Have done this for years. Much nicer.

You might like to try it but if you don't like it just delete.
