I don't see any option for cutting rates soon. The ECB has only one and only good option to pull out of the crisis (monetary policy wise I mean) that is sitting tight with interest rates and not printing money. Recession and lack of growth in Europe comes from structural macroeconomic problems not from having a cheap currency and printing money like mad...
The ECB is the only serious CB so far in the currency war. If they decide to join the war the consequences will be catastrophic to say the least not only for Europe but for the Global Economy...
It will need a lot more than isolated pocket/s of positive economic growth to swing the region as a whole back into the black.
It would be misleading imo to use a low base to benchmark from, a comparison with pre-recession levels would be a true comparison in the longer term.
Unemployment running at 20-30% with a rate of around 50% for college/university/first time job seekers in some countries, will make economic growth in the near term totally impossible.
With the huge debt that needs to be serviced on top of it , how will they do it??

Just got back from an extended trip, part skiing, part work related;
- looking at an old chart (not attached) that has 3314 as DP - which is near todays low so far.
- M5 to M15 are overbought and I factor in a possible retracement to 3347 3365 or 3378
- H1 is confirmed bearish from 3440
- H4 is confirmed bearish from 3560
- D1 remains bullish from around 2910 - see chart: looking for support at rising TL and below from kumo
don't forget it's valentines - easily one of the busier days of my life
