Understood, but in here we need more than just shorthand. And I see you did post pics later, so it's all good. Just keep in mind that without pics then it's much harder for the rest of us to learn from your experiences (or your mistakes), and it's actually impossible for Xux and myself to diagnose your charts and/or your use of the custom indi. They really are worth a thousands words.

And that's not even getting into a discussion about the trolls that talk about us in the other forums, saying that we just make stuff up in here to look good to outsiders. The best way to shut them all up is by posting charts.

Gentlemen: FXhard and XuX,
The attached chart shows a winning trade last night(my time) for GBP. Yet infact the position was stopped out. I have refreshed, changed time frames etc, to update my chart. Has my old age forgotten to do something else?

How were you stopped out? Looks like a good short trade to me...

With a 30 pip stop the indicator should show a stop out at 1.56783, given the entry price was 1.56483. Price infact went to 1.56818. Have I misinterpreted something?

The CZ in question was 39p tall. Add the Buffer Line and slippage, and your SL should have been around 42 or 43p. The only way you would have a 30p stop is if you have engaged the StopLossOverride feature, thereby forcing the indicator to ignore the hardcoded 1:1 ratio in favor of a custom stop loss setting. Is this so? Are you using the Override?

Yes. With this broker this gives me the greatest level of comfort as well as results. I can successfully manage my money as well as my emotions.

So price on a short trade spiked 4p higher than your stop. Stopping out your short trade.

AHH, now we're getting somewhere.

Short answer: I dunno.

Long answer: It may be a Metatrader issue (which has been discussed about 4 pages back, since other members had seen something similar last week); or it could be a bug with the indi with regard to the Override feature, since I don't use it and it hasn't been tested as thoroughly as the parts that I do use all the time. Xux is the one to answer that part.

Final answer: You really shouldn't be using the override by default. If you want tighter stops, then use a tighter CZ height parameter. Look at my last few pics to get an idea of how it should be done IMHO.

BTW both you and XuX have done a fantastic job with the indicator. I for one; and I know I'm not alone, once again offer my heartfelt thanks for your time and expertise. (Too mushy??) Seriously; Thank You!!
Forgot to mention earlier but I had some slippage earlier on the same trade. Not really relevant but thought I'd post a chart. The first arrow is where the trade was first indicated, I took it and later it signaled the trade a second time and moved the indicator arrow along to where you see it now. Didn't affect anything but thought it may be of interest.

Hmm, for some reason the cz is blacked out on my saved picture but you can get the idea from the buffer lines.

And Xux already has an answer to your question. Seems like it boils down to another limitation of the Metatrader platform. Otherwise, Xux would be able to fix it:

"Stop loss and take profit were hit during the same candle. The indicator should guess which was hit first as it has no real time price data. This guess may not be always correct but there is no way to fix this problem."

I wonder if you have the ema turned on - I noticed that it has a habit of showing an entry then when price changes it will turn off. I don;t use it for that reason, It shows great results but I am not confident that they are real yet. Right now I am sticking to what I know that works.

It happens even with the EMA turned off, a lot less often, but it still does; we just gotta live with it.
Sedona, Number, Jay -- Guys, do you realize that the irratic behavior you are describing is from the MT4 platform, possibly combined with broker slippage, and not the fault of the custom indi? Has that fact come through my last few posts (and Xux's) on this subject, or hasn't it?

It has. I am not blaming. I am pointing out experiences I have had and understand that I can not blindly follow the indicator due to this irratic behaviour. As always it is a naked trading system based on CZ's. The indicator has proven that cz's work and to be successful I still have to understand what a good cz looks like and see how price is acting as it comes out of a cz.
