my goal is to always use a fixed 10 pip sl, by demonstrating an uncanny ability to pick out extreme lows plus i want to time my trades so that they go pretty much instantly in my favor so i can move to BE as fast as possible, without choking the trade. cleary if im able to get extreme low, right after its about to break out (entered green zone and then pulled back in slow moving cases), this will be no problem, cause after it breaks out it will create a zone of support/resistance which should protect my trade, if its a valid trade.

If the price doesn't reach the 61.8 Fib, and only reaches 38.2 retracement, what should my thought process be? Do I still draw a fib extension and look for it to get in the PRZ area?

You need to offset the impulse leg to where it retraced, if its an ab = cd it will have an equal ab and cd leg. the PRZ is the combination of the impulse leg and the nearest fib number(s). So if it pokes directly above 138, include 138 and end of line in prz. if it is between 127-138, include that in the prz, if it is below 127-138, include line and 127-138 zone, if it is nearest 168, include end of line and 168

edit: also you should probably only trade those when you have other factors involved in the prz, like structure/retracements.

Hi Starry, thank you for your answer. However, I didn't understand any of it to be completely honest. What do you mean by offsetting the impulse leg? Thank you.

Sorry, i meant you need to copy the impulse to where it retraces. its an ab = cd, and the PRZ consists of the end of the cd leg (the copied impulse) and the extension of ab.

but i see your on metatrader, cant draw line segments on metatrader...

If you draw a trendline in metatrader, make sure in Properties > Parameters that 'Ray right' and 'Ray left' aren't ticked.
That will give you a line segment (if I'm understanding the issue correctly)

Glad to help.

I wish I could get on better with NT... but I think I'll be returning to the MT fold.

So what is the difference between ABCD and AB=CD ? By searching online it seems like they are using it interchangeable and it means the same thing. Thanks.

In the methods used by Mr. Pip (i.e. this thread), the 'ABCD' is a particular AB=CD formation whereby C retraces to 0.618-0.786AB.
If that particular criteria isn't met, it may still be an AB=CD but it is not an 'ABCD'
That's it in a nutshell (I think)

I wish I could get on better with NT... but I think I'll be returning to the MT fold.
Personally, NT is much faster for me. For copy and paste a line/rectangle/triangle/... you can use the standard Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Then each drawing tools has a personal Key from the keyboard, for instance F2 for a line, F8 for Fibonacci retracement, ecc.. The only thing I don't like very much is that I have only 4 digits in the price, and not 5 like in others, but I think this is due to the data provider

Tropics, I highly reccomend you to see ALL Mr.Pip's videos (search DCASTFX on the tube). These are very very usefull! And there is also a video, where Mr. Pip explain this difference
